Giles woke up the following morning in Buffy's hut (his too from now on) utterly happy, in the arms of his wife sprawled near him. All night long they had made love, had talked, had made love again, had discussed again, had fallen asleep, woken up, had made love again then talked again and exhausted had fallen asleep again. From this day forward besides loving each other dearly, they knew themselves by heart.
The Watcher let Buffy sleep then left the hut. He saw Ujua the sorcerer coming to him.
"Haa Juju me naa mee Rooper." The native said.
Giles nodded and followed the old man into Juju's big hut. His first reflex when he saw the Leader of the Itami tribe was to place himself on all fours in front of him and to lower his head, in sign of submission, as was his habit. Juju raised him.
"Toe moona noi Rooper." He said.
Giles blinked very surprised. "I? I am a warrior? Meo moona noi?'
The Sorcerer shook his head negatively. "Naa mapa not."
"Not yet? … Oh yes! It's true, I have to give evidence of my bravery before being a warrior officially … I am ready to undergo the tests. Be omene arimaa nato."
The two natives were satisfied.
"Toe kaluma nere Alua." The old man said to Giles by pushing him towards the door of the big hut.
Giles nodded. "Yes, I am going to dedicate myself to Alua, Ujua."
*
Ujua covered Giles' body with mud, from his head to his feet so that he could make one with the Earth, then he ordered him to come down into the deep pit which was located somewhere in the heart of the jungle. The Watcher complied. He took the liana which served for coming down into the big hole dug by the first ones and pray to Alua, the God of the Earth, their Creator he came down slowly in the darkness. When he had reached the bottom of the deep hole, he pulled twice at the liana and Ujua pulled it back up. Giles after that sat down, in the stagnant water covered with insects because if he could not see them, but he could feel them crawling or running on his skin and felt too the cold entering his body bit by bit. He sighed. He was going to spend 48 hours here praying to Alua. He heard Ujua ask him to begin to pray to the God of the Earth to accept him as one of his children and did it.

48 hours later
Having shaved all the hairs of her husband, Buffy kissed him on his mouth, very proud that he was becoming a warrior and accompanied him then into the center of the village where men, women and children had assembled. All of them wanted to attend the ceremony, which was going to prove Rooper's bravery and to make of him a warrior then, officially.

Ujua ordered Giles to lay down over the stone of ceremony, a gray and flat rock, and then using a stony knife as sharp as a razor he began to scarify his shoulders, chest and belly. Giles gritted his teeth and suppressed a shout of pain. He gazed at the old sorcerer straight in his eyes, without moaning, without moving, to show him and show to all of the Itami people that he was brave and mastered his suffering. When Ujua had finished drawing with his "blade" on the skin the ritual motives of the Itami warriors, he slid into the cuts small pebbles that would give relief and would so highlight them. When Ujua had ended doing this, he poured some water on the blood, which stained Giles' shoulders, chest and belly, and wiped them with leaves, being careful not to move the small pebbles that he had carefully placed between the flesh and the skin. He declared then that Rooper had made a success of the first test. Immediately shouts of joy rose among the crowd.
Ujua bent then towards Giles and ordered him to open his mouth, which he did reluctantly. The Watcher knew that the Sorcerer was going to make him swallow an atrocious laxative, intended to wash him of all his past sins. He knew that he was not going to be able to master his suffering this time because the mixture contained concentrated different peppers, bitter and acid saps of trees and water. The potion was going to burn his stomach and the intestinal walls.
Ujua raised Giles' head and the Watcher drank the brown and thick liquid. As soon as the potion contacted his tongue, Giles began moaning and crying. When it poured into his throat, he started to twist himself with pain and shouted. When the liquid reached the stomach, the Watcher arched and roared with all the force of his lungs. The roaring lasted, and lasted then when Giles did not have breath anymore, it changed into a long complaint. The Watcher fell from the stone of ceremony spasms shaking his twisted body. He began moaning, curled up on himself and burst into tears (If it had been a laxative wouldn't the second side effect have kicked in too?). He finally lost consciousness. Ujua nodded, satisfied. By agreeing to undergo the second test, Rooper had made a success of it. He announced this to the crowd then asked two men to lay down the future warrior on the stone of ceremony, which they did immediately.
Ujua slapped Giles to make him regain consciousness then when he opened his eyes one moment later, poured a liquid into his mouth intended to calm the burns due to the potion and to hydrate him. The Watcher sighed with pleasure when he smiled to the old man to thank him. The Sorcerer helped him to sit down then and stretched out to him a pipe, the cap of which was filled with a powerful hallucinogenic drug. Giles sighed with relief. It was the last test destined to reveal to him his animal totem, which he would paint then on his shield so that it could protect him during a fight. He brought the pipe to his lips and puffed some drafts. Quickly, he felt the effects of the drug: his body became soft then seemed to him to be very light. The stabbing pains disappeared and his vision blurred. Colored lights walked past his eyes to the dilated pupils and he grinned blissfully.
Giles closed his eyes five seconds later and found himself suddenly face to face with a Bengali tiger, which roared. The wild beast approached him then sniffed at him before licking his left leg. The Watcher placed himself in all fours in front of the powerful and dangerous animal then rubbed his face against the tiger's one and stretched out on his back, next, eagle-spread, showing it that he submitted himself to it. The tiger roared again then bit Giles on his neck. Giles felt nothing, the blood did not pour, but on the other hand Rooper saw his skin covering itself with brown fur and when he sat down noted that it faded to off white on his stomach. It was streaked with black lines at the back, the sides, arms and legs. His ears had become round stained with black on their posterior surface. When he opened his mouth to roar, they saw that the canines had lengthened. He saw too that the nails had become claws. The tiger licked his face then it went away. He put himself on all fours again and followed the animal. One moment later he became a real tiger.
Ujua, Juju and Buffy moved back, at the same moment surprised and frightened, and all the others imitated them immediately when Giles on all fours went towards them, showing his teeth, roaring. Giles suddenly jumped up like a tiger on his wife, knocked her down on the ground and groaned a moment sniffing at her skin, before rubbing his cheeks against hers affectionately. He went to lay down on top of her then, licked her face then closed eyes and bit by bit fell asleep.

Giles was awakened by the small and wet kisses of his wife covered his face with, smiling.
"Vee opuade edera aate yoou Rooper." Buffy said to him. "You became a warrior Rooper."
Giles smiled too. "Yes, I became an aate, a warrior." He tenderly caressed Buffy's cheek. "I love you so much Buffy. And I want you." He pulled Booffy to him and made her roll under him. "Oh Buffy!" He nested his face between her wife's breasts tightened her against him. "I love you more than anything in the world. Tea nomda romaa."
Giles lifted Buffy in his arms and laid her down on the carpet situated in front of the fireplace. He moved on top of her and felt her muscular thighs opening under his weight. Her nipples were hard against his chest. With a single and powerful thrust, he sank up to the bottom of her stomach. Buffy pushed too, grinding her clitoris on him, choking out a shout she had a short and violent orgasm. She then heaved a sigh of happiness, closed her arms on Giles's back and kissed him.
"Ooooh! Rupert!"
Giles made love to Buffy slowly and tenderly, moving in and out of her with all of his length, sometimes stopping when he felt ready to explode. Buffy on her back had her legs folded up so that he could penetrate into her even better. She waved under him, curving her back, raising her hips, tightening her hold on him, shuddering, and suffocating him, purring with pure pleasure. Bit by bit, nevertheless, he accelerated his rhythm and began pounding into her furiously. Buffy panted under his powerful thrusts, shaking her blond hair emitting ecstatic shouts, moving fervently beneath him. She roared with both pain and pleasure when he moved in rotary movements, stretching her nether lips as to enlarge the entrance of her vagina. Quickly his movements became more urgent, his moans deeper.
Giles finally exploded in an overwhelming wave of pleasure, released a feral shout and exhausted fell down on Buffy's stomach, his mass draped over her small frame. Buffy uttered a strangled cry then exhaled a long sigh, contented, happy. She had never known such plenitude. After two minutes, she got free of Giles and snuggled up to him. He had closed his eyes and was breathing heavily.
Buffy was the first to recover and turned around so that she was on top of Giles. He was still erect inside of her. She looked at his relaxed and blissful face and purred.
"Mmmmmmmmm… Giles, it was magnificent. You really are a God! I'm married to a sex God!"

Days, weeks, months passed by. Giles spent them, taking care of Buffy and training the warriors of the tribe using his Watcher skills, hunting, fishing, and protecting the borders of the territory which the Harrii crossed more and more often to come to steal the Itami women and children.
The big moment came finally. Buffys waters broke. The work had begun. Perana who had delivered the Itami children for years took the future mom into her hut and for Giles, Sacket, Juju, Ujua and the other members of the tribe the long wait began. More than eight hours passed by before the head of the baby appeared from the body of its mother. Perena loosened the newborn child softly and then rested it on the stomach of the young mom. She called then the dad. Giles embraced his child, his face shining with happiness. If he was not biologically the father (he believed it because in fact he was but did not remember it), he considered it as if he was his own son. For some minutes, Buffy, the baby and Rooper did not see any more, did not hear any more what happened around them. They were as isolated by the outside world by a bubble of happiness and love.

Two days later, at night
Numerous Harrii attacked the village of the Itami and surprised and killed numerous warriors in their huts while they slept. They took their women and their children. As soon as Giles returned to the village the following morning having spent two days and two nights at sea fishing, Juju told him what had happened and reassured him by saying to him that Booffy and the baby were in his hut, safe, together with his wife and with his two daughters. Giles decided to go to the village of the Harrii to free the women and the children still alive because some of them had doubtless already died and had been eaten. With the agreement of the Leader of the tribe, he assembled some warriors then they went to the river, which marked the border between the territory of the Itami and of the Harrii.
They faced and killed numerous Harrii warriors on the way. But a wounded man managed to run away and Giles knew that he was going to warn his Leader of their coming. The effect of surprise was ruined! At the end of some hours of walking Giles and his men reached the village of their enemies who had assembled to fight them. Giles judged that they were six times as numerous as them. The Harrii warriors shot their first arrows …
The battle lasted more than one hour and ended in hand-to-hand fighting, the warriors using their flint knives. There was not more than a handful of Itami alive while the Harrii was still numerous. Giles sent almost the quasi-totality of his men, which surrounded him to free the women and the children prisoners, and framed by only two warriors continued the fight. The three Itami (because Giles had become Rooper Itami) fought as lions against their opponents, at one against eight, or at one against nine sometimes. Giles found himself alone at the end of half an hour in front of more than 50 warriors. He was exhausted, covered with more or less grave wounds and was staggering. He suddenly perceived lots of Itami warriors commanded by Juju approaching. The Leader beckoned to him and Giles smiled. The reinforcements had arrived. Prisoners were going to be able to return to the village without being afraid of being re-captured by the Harrii.
The Leader of the Harrii perceived the Itami reinforcements in his turn and ordered to all his warriors to go to face them. He remained alone in front of Giles and approached him, his gaze cold and cruel tightening his stony knife stained with blood in his hand. Giles tensed his muscles and squeezed his fingers around the handle of his knife of flint, too stained with blood. The two men dashed and collided like two ibexes. Each plunged the knife in the chest of the other, then both moved back, at the same time, and at the same time they collapsed, lethally hurt. The Leader of the Itami knelt down near Giles and tried to put pressure on the wound. There was blood everywhere. Rooper's skin was already cold to the touch and his breathing was shallow.
"Mea nattoo …" Rooper said.
Juju nodded sadly. Rooper was going to die, yes.
"Juju gabee hiu marea nasaq ipum Buffy… take care of Buffy and of my son too."
The Leader nodded again. Giles' panting was transformed into chopped sobs. The cold gained bit by bit his chest, his ears were buzzing, then his body began to be heavy and he felt himself sliding into a dark abyss. He choked for some seconds, had a last start, his breath stopped. A last sigh escaped from his lips and he slowly closed his eyes.

Buffy screamed and believed that she was going to die from sorrow when she saw the corpse of her husband, which Juju had just put down in the center of the village, near the other dead bodies of the Itami warriors. She threw herself against him, buried her face against his immobile chest soiled by painting, by sweat and by blood and burst into tears. It was a pain of such dimension that she felt like her heart would explode. The other widows imitated Buffy in their turn.
Giles, as that of the other dead warriors, was washed, combed, his wounds were filled with moss, and his skin was painted with the colors of the tribe then Ujua wrapped him in a shroud of big leaves attached together by lianas. It was then placed in a coffin cut in the trunk of a tree. Near him the Sorcerer placed his weapons then he blocked the long wooden chest with a lid sculptured and painted in the effigy of Rooper. The coffin was finally placed in the sacred cave where all the warriors rested, near the God of the Earth, the Creator of the Itami people.
