Angel's Girl - part one

Her blood was tainted, full of Wiccan vengeance. He knew as soon as he bit into her, yet he kept drinking, siphoning the life from her as she struggled. The fear just made her blood taste sweeter. Always a plus. "Angel, no," she pleaded.

"Angel doesn't live here anymore," he whispered into her ear before lowering his mouth to her neck.

"No. Stop!" Willow begged the vampire, writhing in his grip, kicking at his shins with the heel of her shoe. Every time she squirmed it just tore the wound beneath his mouth, his teeth cutting into her with a surgeon's skill. But she couldn't just let him have her, not without putting up a fight. "You don't want to do this," she pleaded.

"Oh, I think I do." His mouth dripped of her blood when he broke his hold on her neck to speak. "Now, if I bring you back, are you gonna be all clingy and needy like Buffy used to be when we were dating?" He began mocking his old lover to his victim, "Angel, don't you love me? Angel, when can I see you again? Angel, don't go to L.A.?" His mouth closed over the seeping gash in her neck and his tongue began a wild dance over the tear in her flesh as her blood ran hot and fierce into his mouth. "Did you think you would get me a third time with that spell? You don't even have the orb, witch." He sunk his teeth into her again for a moment and quickly retreated, "Or maybe you do. Let's have a look-see what the witch brought with her." He was holding her from behind with his left hand clamped over her mouth. He pulled at her shirt until it ripped and then he ran his free hand up her torso until he reached the band of her bra. She fought again, kicking him and trying to bite his hand, but he only squeezed her tighter. "Oh, suddenly we're a little shy, huh? Well, let's see what you've got down here," he said and plunged his hand into the front of her jeans. She bucked and threw her head back as hard as she could until it made contact with the rigid features of his visage.

She lost consciousness after that, falling limp in his arms as the whites of her eyes peered out to him through tiny, fluttering slits.

He laid her on the ground, her body folding delicately like a piece of fine silk as it met with the cold cement. With a lover's touch he turned her face to his and kissed her sweetly, leaving a tiny spot of her own blood on the curve of her lip as he pulled away. The vampire held his wrist over her mouth and opened his own vein with a stroke of his finger nail, gently lowering it to her lips as his demonic features faded to human and that angelic smile appeared.

The stake pounded into his back out of nowhere, only a fraction of an inch away from his soundless heart, and it sent him to the ground. Gasping, in shock, struggling to pull it from his wound, Angel looked to see who had done this to him. "Rupert?" The vampire scurried away from the Watcher on the heels of his hands and feet, backwards like a crab on the sand. "You missed." Angel said, smiling at Giles.

"I meant to," the Watcher said, shades of Ripper in his tone. "Is she dead?"

"Not yet," Angel said. "I was gonna bring her back. I think she'd make a fine Mrs. - don’t you?"

"Over my dead body," he said, crucifix in one hand, crossbow in the other.

"Well. I think that can be arranged. I hate to break it to you, old buddy, but you should have killed me when you had the chance." Angel lunged at Giles, the leverage from his crouched position sent him flying toward Watcher within the blink of an eye.

Giles was ready for him. Angelus and his tactics ceased being a mystery the day that he killed Jenny. With a quick step to the side he avoided the vampire's attack. Angel's momentum carried him straight into the brick wall and Ripper was behind him in an instant, shackles at the ready to restrain the demon.

"Ooohhh, kinky. It's the quiet ones you gotta watch out for," Angel said and laughed.

"If she dies, I promise you that you will go slowly, I will punish you myself. If she lives you get off easy. I'll chain you to a tree in a nice, sunny meadow and let the morning have you." Giles snapped the vampire's neck back and injected him with a sedative, something he had obviously prepared in advance.

After he finished securing Angel to the wall he returned to Willow, his heart weeping for the things the poor girl must have suffered. "I'm here, love, I will take care of you." He wiped the blood away from her lips with his thumb and kissed her gently as his hands slid underneath of her neck and legs.

Giles picked Willow up in his arms and secured her head between his shoulder and his chin as he ran to the car, her body limp and lifeless in his embrace. His heart pounded in his ears and throat, tears stung his eyes as he tried so valiantly to save her.
