FEEDBACK: Sure! But please be kind. This is my first attempt at semi-smut fic.
Actually, this is my first actual
complete any kind of fic. I start a lot of fic, but I never finish it. Lots of people have emailed with very nice
feedback on this, so it encouraged me to finish. It was rewarding typing the words "The End" at ... well,
you know - the end :-)

Giles stirred and woke quickly, his heart racing as he scanned the room , trying to decipher where he was. He sat up, covering his nake d body at the waist before he stood. The pain in his head was too much and he fell immediately back to a seated position. "Note to self-wine bad."
He sat for a moment, the throbbing eventually subsiding enough for him to make his way to the kitchen. "Willow, love?" Giles called her name as he walked. "Hmm...Gone again. Not a very good track record. I must be doing something wrong."
He felt her arms embrace him from behind, "No, not gone again," she sai d as her chin rested on his back in that tender spot between his shoulder b lades. "Just upstairs. As much as I enjoyed sleeping in your ar ms..." she moved around to the front of him as she finished, "I was getting a cramp in my leg so I went to sleep in your bed." She kissed his ch est when she finished and continued to place delicate kisses after each of her words on his chest and neck as she worked her way up to his mouth. "I w as lonely, though. Big bed." Their lips met in a tender kiss and Giles wrapped her up in his arms tight as she reassured in his ear , "And you haven't done anything wrong. These past few days have been perfect." She closed her eyes and relaxed into his form, the cadence of his heartbeat echoing her own.
They stood together for a few moments before Willow pulled away and ask ed, "How about breakfast? Why don't you go get dressed and I'll whip something up."
"Sounds good," he said and kissed her forehead lightly before heading u p the stairs.
Willow turned around and faced the kitchen counter with its menacing di shes and pots and pans. She scanned the cupboards and the refrigerato r and the oven before remembering that the only thing she knew how to make. ..was cereal. With a flutter of her hand and a twinkle o f her nose that could rival Samantha Stevens, she created an enchanted feas t. Fresh flowers and fresh fruit and a million other things appeared instantly before her and she magically moved them from the kitchen counter to the dining room table.
Giles walked down the steps, casually dressed, his hair still wet and s licked back from his shower. He stopped and admired the room and the table Willow had prepared. Willow walked into view carrying a pot of tea and she set it on the dining room table. "Impressive," Giles said and walked over to the girl, took her in his arms and lowered her into one of those old-fashioned, romantic back-bend kisses. Just before his l ips met hers he asked, "How long was I up there?"
She smirked and raised an eyebrow, "I made the tea."
He smiled and let her up.
They enjoyed breakfast together before Willow announced that, as much a s she hated to leave him, she had to go. "I'm sorry that I won't be a round tonight, but I promised Buffy. And if I don't show up t hat means Xander will be dateless. I KNOW you couldn't care less abou t Xander having a date or not, but I'd feel bad."
"I understand, completely. Go and have fun with your friends. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I have some research I'd like to delve into." He walked her to the door and watched as she climbed the stairs and disappeared from view.
He closed the door and stepped back inside, horrified at the sight of t he wreckage of the dishes and leftover food on the table. As he made his way over to the table he said to himself, "The least she could ha ve done was..." He stopped as the things in front of him vaporized an d disappeared. A note dropped out of mid air in front of him and fell into his hand. It unfolded itself in his palm and inside it si mply read Magic. He smiled as it, too, turned glittery and vanished. "This is going to be fun," he said.
Giles had been out most of the day, but when he returned to his place a round dinner time there was a frantic message from Xander on his machine, " Giles, it's Xander. Listen, I have a little problem, here. W e had a little accident here at the dig - a couple of the guys got a little whacky with the backhoe and tore into some underground electrical cable. T he whole block is out and I'm stuck here pretty much all night. You t hink you can fill in for me tonight? Willow will be dateless if I don 't show up. Gimme a call on my cell when you get in. Thanks."
He picked up the phone and dialed Xander's number. The message wa s left only a few minutes before, so he thought he had a pretty good chance at catching him. After two rings, the boy picked up, "Harris," the v oice on the other end said.
"Xander, it's Giles. I just got your message."
"Hey, G-man. Listen, I can't get a hold of Willow or Buffy. I tried to leave a message for Willow, but her machine isn't picking up. Whattya think ? Can you help a guy out? You have a tux, ri ght?"
"Um. Yes, I have a tux. And...I am free this evening . I suppose I could escort Willow to the...um...dance." Giles s at on the desk, one leg on the floor, the other dangling just an inch above . He was nervous and jittery, afraid he might give away the secrets o f the past few days.
"Great. Listen, you don't have to escort her, you just have to me et her. She had to show up early and help with the decorations or som ething. I was going to meet her around 8 on the steps in front of the library on campus. You kids have fun, now. Have her home by te n."
Giles played along, since he was so excited about getting to spend the evening with the girl, "Aww, shucks, Mr. Harris. Ten??? All the other kids get to stay out 'til midnight"
Xander was baffled. He had no snappy retort for the Watcher. "Uh, yeah. Listen, I gotta go. Thanks again, man." And with that, h e was gone.

As Rupert Giles walked nervously across the campus, he admired the lavi sh costumes that adorned the party-goers. It was a brisk evening, the air cool as it wafted around him carrying the scent of burning leaves and fireplaces. He carried a single red rose in his hand and thought that , for a change, he looked very, very handsome. The man had been spend ing entirely too much time in his jeans and t-shirts hanging out at the Esp resso Pump. Tuxedo was a nice change.
He arrived at the library steps and began the arduous task of climbing to the top. Willow was standing at the top, her body situated so that she couldn't see him coming. As he reached the top, Willow n oticed the sound of his approaching footsteps and turned to face him.
"Miss Moneypenny," he said and smiled, offering up the red rose he had brought for the girl.
Willow lit up at the site of the man. The fact that he looked so handsome was a plus, she was just happy that he was with her. "Jam es." She melted as he bent down on one knee and took her hand in his, peppering it with two delicate kisses. "What are you doing here, " she asked.
Giles stood and moved closer to her, "I'm afraid you are stuck with me as your date this evening. Xander had some, well, trouble to say the least, at work and asked if I would fill in for him." He baited her w ith his next sentence, "Are you disappoint..."
Before he finished the word Willow moved in and placed a kiss on his li ps.
"I'll take that as a no." He said and held her close.
"I wanted you to be here tonight," she whispered in his ear.
"As did I," he replied and squeezed her just a little tighter.
Music echoed from the great hall, melodic and inspiring, as it met thei r ears. "Shall we," he said and offered his arm to the girl.
Willow felt like a princess this night, in this dress, with this man at her side. As they strolled together, arm in arm, she couldn't stop smiling. They reached the dance floor and Giles turned to her an d bowed his head slightly as he held her hand up, his other arm securely fa stened around her waist. Shyly, she reminded him, "Giles...I don't kn ow how to dance like this."
"Just hold on to me, love," he assured, "Just hold on to me."
