Giles had endured two days before he started being affected by dreams of Jessie. The third morning he woke to a problem. He'd had a vivid dream about the two of them and woke up to a bit of a mess. "At least I'm not humping pillows," he muttered under his breath. He tried to quietly hop out of bed to clean himself up, but his legs tangled in the sheets. He landed in a heap on the floor. "Bloody hell," he nearly shouted.
Jessie awoke, blinking. "Rupert? Are you okay?" That's when she put her hand in something wet on the bed sheets. Quickly she pulled it away and then noticed he was on the floor.
It was very hard for her not to laugh. "Uh, honey, you aren't hurt, are you?" Besides his pride, she thought. If Faith was there she would have said something about at least he hadn't landed on his head.
He knew he was bright red. "I'm fine. I just wanted to go to the bathroom. You can go back to sleep." He tried to untangle himself from the sheets but only made things worse.
Jessie bit back her giggles and climbed out of bed. She helped him with the sheets and then to his feet. Smiling, she hugged him gently and kissed him softly. Her arms pulled him closer and her kiss deepened just a bit. Then the door bell rang.
He watched as she grabbed her robe and left to answer the door and then went to take a shower.
By the time he was in the shower, thoughts of his dream and the kiss she'd given him had made him hard again. He turned the water cold, but it didn't help. Grabbing his cock, he began to stroke himself, trying to tell himself he could stop before he came.
Jessie pulled on her robe and was yawning when she answered the door. Then she looked shocked. "What are you doing here?"
Jake smiled and put down his luggage. "Hi pumpkin. I'm here for the wedding. I know I'm a few days early, but I missed you." His eyes narrowed. "Where's Rupert?"
Upstairs, Giles lost himself to his fantasy. "Oh god, Jess," he whimpered, as he imagined her on her knees in front of him. He could almost feel her tongue sliding over his balls and cock. "Just like that," he said, stroking faster. He barely saw the bathroom door open as his orgasm ripped through him, his come shooting all over the shower door.
Jessie stepped inside with a very annoyed expression on her face. She put her hands on her hips. "You big fat cheater. Were you even going to tell me? How many other quickies have you had in the shower?"
She was really trying not to laugh.
Giles eyes snapped open when he heard Jessie. "Oh dear lord," he muttered. "This is the first time. I had this dream last night." He stopped, knowing he didn't have an excuse. "I had hoped you wouldn't find out," he said quietly.
"So you weren't going to tell me then?" Her eyes narrowed. She threw up her hands and then grabbed a towel, tossing it at him. "Pa is downstairs. Get dressed." Jessie turned on her heels and hurried into the bedroom to change.
He groaned and cleaned up as best he could before drying himself. He wrapped a towel around his waist and walked into the bedroom. Jessie was already dressed.
"Your father is here?" he asked as he dropped the towel and pulled on a pair of jeans.
Jessie pulled a shirt out of the closet for him and walked over towards him. She moved his hands away and slowly zipped up his fly. She looked up at him with a little smile. "Should I gloat now, or later?" When he blushed she giggled. "Yeah, he came a few days early to settle in before the wedding. Surprise!"
"If I had known he was downstairs, it would have stopped me," he said as he pulled on the shirt. "It would have been like 10 ice cold showers." He buttoned up the shirt. "He doesn't like me."
Jessie frowned and smoothed the shirt over his shoulders. "First of all, I don't think that's true. He's just protective of me, but I think he likes you. And secondly..." Jessie wrapped her arms around his waist, "I love you very much."
"I love you too, Jess," he said. He put his arms around her as a thought struck him. "Has he met Emma yet?"
"He was going to head to the kitchen while I came up here to get dressed. I imagine she's in there preparing breakfast." Jessie kissed his cheek and then took his hand to pull him towards the stairs. "I wonder what he'll think about me getting a Harley?" she teased.
Giles groaned. "I suppose you'll want to pick one out yourself. Something blue perhaps, or would you prefer red?" he asked. "It will be like having a huge vibrator between your legs after all."
Jessie threw her head back and laughed. She was still laughing when they entered the kitchen.
Jake looked up and his brows furrowed. "I'm glad to see you're making her so happy," he said to Giles.
Emma walked up behind Jake. "Of course, he's making her happy," she said. "I've never seen him this happy in all his life either." She walked around and swatted Giles on the butt. "Wash you hands and help set the table. We have a guest."
Giles jumped a little in surprise, but went to the sink to wash his hands.
Jessie giggled and turned to smile at her Pa. "Isn't he cute?!"
Jake just snorted and sipped from his tea cup. "Do you want some coffee, Pa?" She was surprised to see him drinking her mint tea.
Jake shrugged. "I used to drink quite a lot of tea, actually." That had been when Corrine, Jessie's mom, had been around.
Emma patted Jessie's shoulder. "Don't worry, dear. I made enough tea for everyone." She pulled out a chair. "Now sit and tell me what you want to eat this morning."
Giles smiled. "No pancakes," he whispered in Jessie's ear as he set the table.
Jessie giggled again and Jake rolled his eyes. He looked up at Emma. "Are they always like this? Cuz if so, get me a feed bucket to chuck in right now."
"Pa!" Jessie smacked him on the shoulder and he grunted, but smiled. Jessie smiled over at Giles as if to say, `See? He does like you.'
Jessie poured her own cup of tea and looked over at Emma. "How about French Toast?"
Emma smiled at Jake. "Usually, they're worse." She turned to Jessie. "French toast. For everyone?" When everyone agreed, she turned to the stove and left the others to talk.
Giles stood behind Jessie and put his hands over her belly. "How long will you be staying?" he asked Jake.
Jessie leaned back and smiled. When Giles held her like this with his hands on her stomach, she felt total contentment. She smiled at Emma.
Jake pulled a toothpick out of his pocket and slipped it between his lips. "I suppose that depends," he said softly. At Jessie's glance he cleared his throat. "I was thinking about becoming an absentee owner, perhaps...retiring early...settling in here. I'd like to be close to my grandchildren."
Giles kissed the top of Jessie's head before he sat down next to her. "There's just one baby on the way," he said. "Though, I would love to have more."
Emma slipped in quietly, setting the first plate of French toast on the table.
Jake's eyes went wide. "I just meant, one baby, yes, I just meant...he was obviously flustered and that made Jessie smile. She reached over and patted his hand. "Don't worry, Pa." She wondered what Rupert thought about Jake maybe moving there. She wasn't sure what she thought about it either. She wasn't sure she wanted her father living with them. She wanted her own life with her husband and kids.
Emma sensed Jessie's discomfort and stepped in. "There is a nice guest house near the stables that would be perfect for you," she told Jake.
"Yes," Giles agreed. "I think you'll like it."
Jake glanced at Jessie and then nodded. They'd have to talk later. "That sounds fine," he said softly.
Emma served breakfast and they all ate in companionship with small talk. Jessie couldn't stop being nervous though. Suddenly she blurted out, "I'm getting a Harley." Then she blushed.
Giles groaned, knowing that no matter how this conversation went, he would be embarrassed.
"She won a bet," he said. "Now I'm going to buy her a Harley."
Jessie blushed again and looked over at Giles. "I'm sorry, it just came out," she said, a little ashamed.
Jake looked from Jessie to Giles and decided to not press. He stood up and glanced at Emma. "I can help with the dishes, then I think I'll take a nap. I'm all messed up from the time change."
"Thank you," Emma said as Jake helped her clear the table. "You can use one of the guest rooms until we get you settled into your own place."
Giles smiled. "It's nice to see them getting along. It's almost like they know each other."
Jessie nodded. It was nice.
In her mind she was going through the things she wanted to do that day. She wanted to research wedding vows. There were only a few more days until the ceremony and she wasn't ready! Thank goodness the dress was taken care of already.
"I want to go check on the horses, if you don't need help, Emma?" She was surprised to see her Pa helping wash dishes. Usually he left that stuff for Pedro.
Emma shooed Jessie and Giles out of the kitchen. "Go. We're fine, dear. Take Rupert and check on the horses."
"That was strange," Giles said as the walked away from the house.
Jessie smiled and took his hand while they walked to the barn. She knew he had to leave for work soon, and she had planned on researching wedding vows on the computer that afternoon. Hopefully her Pa would take a nap, she mused.
"When it comes to Emma, nothing surprises me anymore," Jessie laughed. She heard Rom and Nero so she dropped Rupert's hand and ran ahead to hug the horses through the fence. "Hi guys!"
"Did you get the feeling that they've met before?" Giles asked.
He walked over and gave each horse a scratch behind the ears.
"I can't imagine where," Jessie said with a shrug. She moved into the barn area so she could give them fresh grain, feed, and water, as well as muck out their stalls. Eventually she might not be able to do all these chores, but until then, she wanted too.
"What do you think about what Pa said? About maybe living here?" Jessie asked him.
"I'd love to have him live here," Giles said. "I would love to have our children grow up with him here."
As they talked, he helped with the chores.
"Emma likes him. That's good enough reason for him to stay."
Jessie stopped and leaned on the handle of the shovel, smiling at him. "He does like you too, sweetie. I wish you wouldn't worry so much about that."
"It's not that simple," he said. "I can't explain it, but when I'm around him, I feel like a teenager that has behaved badly. I feel as if he's judging me."
Jessie leaned the shovel against the wall of the barn and pulled off her gloves. "I suppose that's natural, since he is my Pa, but..." Jessie went over to stand closer to Rupert. "What can I do to help?"
"I don't think you can help," he said with a sigh. "Emma may have more luck. I think he may have a problem with Watchers and Slayers. Emma has been around them her whole life."
Jessie and Jake hadn't spoken too much about Watchers and Slayers. Jessie was still sore at him for hiding the fact that vampires existed from her. She'd learned a lot from Faith too. "Maybe your right," Jessie said softly.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Jake was drying off the last plate. He glanced around and then turned to Emma. "I have to be here to keep an eye on her."
"You don't need to worry about, Jessie," Emma said. "She's a smart girl." She poured them both some tea. "And Rupert is taking good care of her."
Jake was going to make a nasty retort about that but bit his tongue. He thanked Emma for the tea and sat back in his chair, rubbing at his temples. "Jessica has been my whole life. After Corrine ...she's all I have left, Emma."
Emma shook her finger at Jake. "Don't you dare use your wife as an excuse. Rupert wouldn't have brought her here if it wasn't safe. He loves Jessie just as much as you do."
Jake frowned into his tea. "I'm beginning to suspect that," he muttered. Corrine had told him the same thing. He looked over at Emma then. "They liked the baby blanket?"
Emma's expression softened. "They both love it." Emma sipped her tea. "You should know that they were visited by the Coven."
Jake looked up quickly. "That was fast. Is it trouble or...for protection?" When it came to the Coven, it was hard to tell. He had tried to fight them before, with Corrine...but in the end they had won, and taken his wife away from him. He couldn't bear losing his daughter to them, or anyone or anything, too.
"They only came to confirm the pregnancy and to explain how it happened," Emma said. "They don't want anything from them."
Jake let out a sigh of relief. But he didn't quite relax. The Coven didn't want anything. Yet.
Glancing out the kitchen window he saw the two love birds walking back towards the house, hand in hand. "She really does look happy," he mused.
From that moment on, Jake resolved to make sure they stayed that way. The both of them.
