Spike couldn't sleep all night. True he is a vampire so he doesn't sleep at night anyway but he was thinking about one thing all night: Buffy. Of course Buffy is what is usually on his mind. He was thinking on a sure fire way to make her admit that she was madly in love with him. A simple truth spell would do the trick. Also he needed a barrier spell, he wanted all of Buffy's friends to know how she felt about him.
Spike headed toward the Magic Shop and broke in. He quickly came across a book of basic spells. He smiled to himself imagining how the scene would play out.
"Tell me how you really feel about me." Spike would say intently to Buffy.
"I don't feel…I don't love…" Buffy would say and then realizing defeat she would plant a passionate kiss on Spike's waiting mouth. The Scooby gang would gasp in shock and horror "Oh, Spike, I love you. Your hair is so much cooler than Angel's."
"Buffy, this can't be." Giles would say as he takes off his glasses to wipe them clean.
"Giles if you don't like it then you can go back to England and never talk to me again."
Poor little Dawnie would probably cry; all the Summers' women had a soft spot for Spike, Dawn had the biggest crush on Spike for the past year. "It's not fair! Why do all my crushes like Buffy!"
"Buffy, I think it's okay, he is your type and whatever makes you happy. Besides it's not like he can kill people anymore. I'm a lesbian and I can see what a hottie Spike is." Willow would try to be the understanding friend as usual.
"Hello! This is Spike!" Xander would protest in his whiny voice. Spike would punch him causing Xander to fall to the ground.
"You know I always did find him kind of annoying." Buffy would say.
That's how everything would turn out and Buffy would finally be his. Spike looked through the book and heard a noise coming from the basement. When he opened the door and went down the stairs a familiar smell was in the air, a familiar person's smell.
"Lil' bit? What the hell?" Spike looked at Dawn stuffing various objects in her book bag.
"Spike! Oh, I was just a…" Dawn said nervously.
"Stealing?"
"Well…hey, what are you doing here?"
"Stealing." Spike said and Dawn gave him a chastised look. "I'm evil. This is what evil things do. What's your excuse?"
"I don't know. Trying to get attention?" Dawn said
"Come on. Let's get you home." Spike said.
They headed out of the Magic Box and Spike escorted the young girl home. As they approached the house Spike realized Buffy had company.
"Is your sis having a party or something?" Spike asked
"A research party. Buffy's been having trouble with something in town but she doesn't know what it is. It's probably a demon. Not a scary evil demon but more like an annoying, wackiness ensue causing demon." Dawn thought a moment and added, "and maybe a little geeky too."
"Oh, okay. Well I think maybe I should come in then." Spike said thinking maybe his plan could be executed earlier than he thought."
Dawn walked in the door with Spike right behind her. Buffy, Giles and Tara were sittng on the sofa while Anya sat on the chair across from it. Willow and Anya were at the dining room table going through books.
Buffy looked at Dawn and got up from the couch and went over to Dawn and Spike in the hall. "Dawn what the hell?" She looked at Spike angrily and then back at Dawn. "Your supposed to be in your room!"
"I snuck out" Dawn said.
"I thought it best to bring her back knowing it would bother you and all." Spike said but Buffy just gave him a dirty look.
"Dawn go up stairs." Dawn went to go up the stairs but Buffy stopped her. "On second thought stay here where I can keep an eye on you. Spike leave. I don't have time for you." Buffy was about to throw Spike out the door but he pushed her away.
"No slayer it's time the truth came out!"
"Spike…"
"The truth must come out and I'm going to make it." Spike opened his book. "Till Secrets come out no one shall leave! Till Secrets come out no one shall leave! Till Secrets come out no one shall leave!" Spike shouted and when he was done everyone was silent. They all stared at Spike in bewilderment.
"Okay then. Time to go." Buffy went to throw Spike out the door but he was pushed back inside. "What the hell."
"It's a truth spell and a barrier spell. Sort of a two for one deal." Willow spoke up from the dining room table.
"Spike what is this?" Buffy said to Spike.
"Tell them." Spike looked at Buffy but she just looked down at her feet. "Tell them how you really feel about me."
"Spike, this obsession with Buffy is really starting to get creepy." Xander said
Buffy looked up at Spike coldly. "You want to know how I feel? How I really feel? I feel disgust when I look at you. You are so pathetic. I am so pathetic for being with you. I use you to feel alive because I don't belong here with my friends because I'm supposed to be dead. Like you're supposed to be dead and that's why I feel you're the only thing I deserve in this world. And it's true you do make me feel alive in those moments when we play out little games and we inflict pain and pleasure on each other but afterwards all I feel is nothing. Emptiness."
Everyone in the living room sat in silence with their mouths open in astonishment. Spike was about to break in to tears. "It's not true you do feel love. You are in love!"
"I am in love. Not with you. There was only one person I wanted to see when I came back and it wasn't you. It was Giles and that's whom I love. That's who I think about when you're inside me." Buffy realized what she said and her eyes grew big with shock. She looked into the living room and back at the weeping Spike. Not knowing what to do she ran up the stairs and into her room where she locked her door.
To be continued.
