329 B.C. - in Ancient Greece, Alexander the Great rules Greece, has taken over Persia and trying to enforce a new civilization, making the Greek language a common tongue across nations, and introducing people to the Greek gods, it is the time of Hellenization.
The night sky was pitch black, not a star could be seen. Pandora stood just inside the city's gate. She could vaguely make out someone in the dark.
"There you are Dora, I wondered if you would be here." he smiled sinisterly.
"Demetreis, there is nothing you can say or do to make me change my mind." Pandora glared at him.
Demetreis' grin was smeared across his face like a slithering snake, "You are mistaken."
"By Athena, I will never give in. You made a mistake and you can't stop me. I will never follow you or your fiends." Pandora said stepping closer to the pale slithery vampire.
"I sired you, Pandora, for a reason." he tried to explain before Pandora interrupted him.
"It backfired on you. I am not the vampire you hoped to have made. Am I now? Nor will I ever be." Pandora stepped into the light shone from a torch in the wall.
Demtries lunged forward into Pandora trying to knock her down. She spun up into the air jumping out of his way. Her reflexes were far superior then his and he lunged again at her. Her toga spiraled in the air, temporary blocking Demetreis's view. She straddled him shoving him into the dirt road and held her sword at his throat.
He continued to sneer at Pandora and in a raspy voice, "I still won. I may not have been able to kill you but .." he paused to laugh, "I can still get at you."
"Where are those thieves those demons that follow you?" Pandora scolded pressing her sword into his throat.
"You mean my minions, true vampires who understand who they are?" Demetreis continued to snicker, "I am sure you would love to know where they are and what they are doing."
Fear filled Pandora and Demetreis felt it and relished in it., "What are you saying?" Pandora shouted digging her sword further into his flesh causing blood to bubble around the blade..
"If I can't hurt you Pandora, I can get to the ones you love." Demtreis sneered one last time as Pandora drove the sword through his neck beheading him.
"LAZARUS!!!!!!!!!!!" Pandora jumped up from the pile of dust and ran to Athena's Temple where Lazarus was going to meet her.
The streets of Athens were quiet that night, no one was around. She ran down the dirt roads, kicking rocks and dust into the air. By the time she got to the temple all she could see were 4 vampires holding Lazarus down drinking from him laughing and cackling with glee.
Pandora swung her sword in the air charging at them. She behead two with one blow while the other two ran for their lives.
She knelt before her friend her tutor her beloved Lazarus. She could tell he was barely alive. The vampires had drained him too much. Tears welled up in her eyes seeing him dying before her.
"No, I can't lose you!" Pandora cried out wiping the tears from her face," I can save you. I know I can."
Lazarus just looked into her eyes and sighed, he loved her and didn't want to see her hurting like this.
"Forgive me Lazarus, but I have no choice, I cannot go on without you." Pandora slashed her wrist and offered it to him.
Lazarus shook his head no, barely able to speak.
"Trust me, look what happened to me, perhaps my blood will save you. I promise if you turn into one of those fiendish demons, I will kill you." Pandora gave him her bleeding wrist once more.
With a nod, he drank from her wrist.
Present day 2001 Sunnydale, CA
Buffy tried reaching Angel but to no avail. Growing impatient she called Giles to let him know that Angel called and sounded worried about something. Giles informed her that he too had received several phone calls from Angel. Not wanting to just sit around, Buffy called the scoobies together at the magic shop for another meeting. Just before he was headed out the door he heard his phone ring.
Pandora had gained some strength and managed to make it to the car to drive into Sunnydale that very night. Angel and Wesley had so many questions to ask her, but they were worried about bombarding her too much. Wesley couldn't understand why it was so vital that she spoke with a watcher. It just made no sense to him at all.
They reached the mansion before sunrise and Angel carried Pandora into the mansion and sat her down on a sofa. She was tired of laying down, she insisted that 100 years on her back was more then enough time to be laying around. She was also anxious to meet the watcher. She explained it was of dire importance. Wesley decided it would be best to invite Giles over immediately and took on the responsibility of calling him.
Giles wasted no time heading over the Angel's Mansion. He couldn't believe the story Wesley told him. He tried to contact Buffy to let her know he would be running late, but she was already gone.
When Giles entered the mansion he was greeted by a smiling Cordelia who introduced him to Gunn, then she offered him a seat and a cup of tea.
"Tea? perhaps you might have something a bit stronger to drink." Giles smiled shyly, looking at the dark haired stranger sitting next to Angel.
"Pandora this is Giles, Giles I would like you to meet Pandora." Angel said introducing them to one another.
Giles politely stood up and shook her hand, then sat back down and looked over at Wesley, "I was wondering if you would do me a favor. Buffy and her friends are all meeting at my magic shop wondering why Angel was calling. I cannot be there right now and wondered if you would go in my stead."
"That sounds like a great idea, Gunn and Cordelia can join me. If I recall your shop is the same one where the earlier proprietor had a mishap of sorts."
"Indeed it is. Thank you, for doing this for me. You might as well get everyone up to speed as too what is going on too." Giles smiled relieved that he wouldn't have to explain to Buffy himself why he couldn't be there.
After they had left, Giles, Angel and Pandora were alone, Pandora looked sternly into Giles' eyes, "Why has it taken so long to awaken me or was it not the Councils hand in bringing me back?"
Angel sat there with his draw gapping at Pandora's changed demeanor and was trying to understand what Pandora meant by the council.
Giles was even more startled and confused, "Pandora, I don't understand what you mean. My understanding was that no such person or vampire named Pandora ever existed. You were just a myth some kind of vampire folk lore."
Pandora's eyes grew viciously big, "A MYTH!!!!!!!!!!! Is this how the council treats their slayers???????????!!!!!!!!!"
Angel and Giles just sat there uncertain what to say or do.
"Buffy, I am sure Giles is on his way over." Willow tried to put her friend at ease.
"Why did this Angel have to call, Xander and I were quite happy in our bed sleeping." Anya complained.
Spike and Dawn stood off to the side, not wanting to get in to any kind of trouble. They had decided they were far better off sitting back and watching everyone stress out, then to be in the middle of the mix.
Everyone jumped when they heard the bell on the front door chime, as the door was opened. Wesley entered in followed up by Gunn and Cordelia.
"Giles...." Buffy turned hoping to see Giles but saw Wesley instead.
Spike chuckled at everyone startled looks, "Well you sure bloody hell ain't Giles, What brings you in to town."
"Giles apologizes that he cannot make it, but sent us to explain, something we know little about." Wesley noticed the tons of books Giles had collected and smiled, "Perhaps with a little more research we can learn more about Pandora."
"Who's Pandora?" the scoobies all asked, that is all but Spike, who sat there even more dumbfounded then before.
