Title: One Night, Nine Months, & Two Years 9/?

Feedback: there are worse things in life then flames, and not many better things than praise, but I'll settle for professional criticism.
Disclaimer: all characters, except the few I will make up as the story progresses, belong to UPN, The WB, Mutant Enemy, and of course Joss Whedon, not to mention the countless others that I don't know or have never heard of. The only thing I know for sure is that the shows (BtVS & AtS) aren't mine and I have no control over what the characters do, no matter how hard I wish, pray, and dream!

Part 9: Clarification

Buffy was sitting in the dinning room of her house, or the house that would soon be the bank’s property. She needed to find someone to help her get all the money stuff figured out. For some reason the only person that came to mind, besides Giles was Wesley. Now if he couldn’t figure out a way to get everything reasonably in control than who could? She got up and went over to Willow’s Address book, Buffy knew that Willow would have the number. She found it and dialed Wesley’s cell phone, it rang four times before a gruff voice answered, "What do you want." Who was this? Buffy thought it didn’t sound like Wesley. "uh, I—is Wesley Wyndom-Pryce there?" Buffy asked hoping this man could help her find him. "This is he…Buffy? Is that you?" The man who said he was Wesley sounded surprised. "Yeah it is. Wesley something’s happened and I could, I mean we could really use your help, do you think you can come to Sunnydale for a little while? I mean I’ll understand if Angel needs you and you can’t come but I really need your help." Buffy babbled into the phone. After a few minutes of silence the deep voice on the other end said. "I’ll leave right away, see you in about three hours." And then the line went dead. "That was weird," Buffy muttered, looking at receiver.

Willow came in just as Buffy was hanging up the phone. "Hey where you calling Giles?" She asked sitting her shoulder bag on the kitchen table. "No, why would I call Giles?" Buffy asked nervously. "Well, you haven’t spoken to him in over two weeks, and there’s the ‘little’ matter that is the baby." Willow said slowly. After taking in Buffy’s blank look, "you know, because he’s your Watcher and you are probably the first pregnant slayer in a long time, maybe even ever." Willow added wondering why Buffy hadn’t thought of that little tidbit of info herself. "I know but I’ve decided not to tell anyone until I’m at least three months along." Buffy answered walking over to the refrigerator to find something suitable for lunch. "Buffy that’s a long time, don’t you think he will be upset when he finds out how long you kept it from him?" Willow asked going over to the cupboard to get plates. "I think he’ll understand and so will everyone else, I don’t want everyone to know about her before I know she’ll make it here." Buffy answered from inside the refrigerator. "Her? you think it’s a girl?" Willow said surprised setting the table for three, Tara should be getting home any minute. "Yeah, I don’t know why I just started thinking of her as a her," Buffy said smiling as she turned away from the refrigerator to face her best friend, "and I can’t find anything to eat in here," she added shutting the door a little forcefully. "It would be so of the good if it was a girl, not that it wouldn’t be if it is a boy," Willow rambled, "and I guess we could order out for food. Whacha craving? Chinese, or pizza?" Willow said making her way over to the phone. "um, Chinese sounds good," Buffy said unconsciously resting a hand on her stomach. Willow smiled and dialed the number.

After Tara got home Buffy informed the witches that they needed to get outside help with their financial situation. She told them that Wesley was going to come and help them out. "But why not ask Giles for help, he’d do anything that needed to be done." Tara asked from her seat beside Willow. Buffy picked up her glass of orange juice and took a sip before answering the dreaded question. "I don’t want to ask that of him, I mean after all he’s done for me and Dawn, I would feel like I was taking advantage of him." Buffy recited the line she had thought up knowing they would ask why not Giles. "Okay, I get that, but why Wesley isn’t he busy with Angel Investigations?" Willow said getting up as the doorbell announced that the takeout had arrived. "He was the first person I thought of after Giles of course, I mean he knows all about money and finances and other things in the realm that is not Buffy." Buffy answered as Willow came back into the dinning room laden with bunches of boxes with different words marking what each contained. Willow set them on the table and they each picked up their favorites and put them on their plates. They decided to use proper eating etiquette, because Wesley would be coming and most likely be in need of food that was not tainted.

It had only been two hours since Buffy called LA. Dawn would be coming in another two hours or so. Buffy wanted to know why she had been at Spike’s crypt, his excuse was slightly lame, but she needed his help so let him live anyway. Buffy was forced to stop her pondering on the situation when the phone rang out. "Hello," she said into the receiver. "Buffy?" a deep voice asked. "Yeah, Wesley is that you?" Buffy said wondering not for the first time that day what happened to his voice, maybe he had a sour throat. "Yes, I hate to ask, but do you think you could send someone to pick me up a the bus station?" he asked slowly, like he hated to ask for help. "Of course, I can pick you up. When will you be here?" Buffy said amazed that he would think he even had to ask. "About an hour and twenty minutes. The bus is running a little late. So I should be in Sunnydale at 2:30." He said over the now obviously loud bus station noise. "That’s sound great, I’ll see you then. And thanks again Wesley you don’t know how much this means to me, to us." Buffy said quietly into the phone. "Its my pleasure, I have some stuff to explain to you and the others when I get there, but the jest of it is that I’m coming to Sunnydale to stay. I won’t be going back to LA."
