Feedback: Always nice:)
Disclaimer: Joss and his playmates in the sandbox own it. It's getting crowded in there. Coz ya know things would be very different if I did:)
"Real demons." Max murmured as she watched the scenery blur by.
"If I hadn't.I've seen what Rupert can do Max. Demon's are real."
"You call him Rupert?" Max's mind needed a break from demons for a spell.
"For a long time, yes. It just felt funny calling him Dad, especially when I'd just lost Dad.my step father." Logan smiled and shrugged. "But just recently, I've really missed having a father, and it just felt like the right thing to do."
Max nodded. "I see."
"The first time I called him Dad, his eyes lit up and he looked like I'd just given him the best present he'd ever had in his life." Logan smiled. "It was nice."
"How long since you've seen him?" Max asked closing her eyes, trying to envision this man who was Logan's biological father.
"About 2 years. I flew over to England to see him. He was there recuperating after the death of a loved one." Logan shuddered thinking back to when Max had been killed.
"Oh. I'm sorry."
Logan laughed. "Actually, she's alive again too." He looked over at Max, "I guess saviourism isn't the only thing I got from my father. She's a warrior too."
Max sat up a little straighter. "Warrior?"
Logan smiled and quoted, "Into each generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world ,with the strength and skills to hunt the vampires and forces of darkness."
Max frowned, "Umm, huh?"
"Buffy's the Slayer. Dad's in love with her. I don't think he's quite realised it yet. I guess it's easier to see someone else in denial, than to admit it to yourself."
Max grinned. "Denial no longer, Saviour man?"
Logan wished he could reach for her hand.

Buffy paced the corridor waiting for Giles to come back from where he'd disappeared to. He'd just told her he was in love with her, and she didn't know quite what to think. On the one hand she'd seriously thought that could have been the thing he was so scared of telling her, and she'd been prepared for that. Hopeful, even.
Giles had a son. And she wondered if that changed everything.
A son named Logan.
Her chin still felt warm from where he'd cupped it to make her look him in the eyes. She'd almost melted when she'd seen the truth behind his words in his eyes. God, did anyone else in the world have eyes like Giles? It was as if he'd seen into every corner of her soul - and still hadn't run. Even in her darkest hour he'd known what she needed. She'd floundered without him - lost, but now he was back. He planned to stay, and she thought about the wash of relief she'd felt when he'd told her that he wouldn't leave her again.
Buffy paced the floor her mind racing, flitting from memory to memory. She flinched briefly as she remembered the strength he'd taken from her on her 18th birthday, but then she remembered the way he had charged in, refusing to let her die because of some outdated custom. She remembered the way Giles had avoided her gaze when Travers had labelled it 'a father's love'. Even as Travers said it, something had felt wrong, and she remembered thinking 'but he's going to marry me', before her eyes had widened and she'd concentrated on scowling at Travers again.
She closed her eyes and she remembered how handsome he'd looked in his tux at the prom. He'd stood by her then, and he was standing by her now. He'd only left her once and even as she'd argued she'd understood why. She'd stopped seeing him as Giles, her mentor and best friend, and seen him only as a pawn to be shifted around with the others. He'd tried his best and yet she'd pushed him away. She smiled, she wouldn't push him away again. He made her feel safe - as if she could do anything in the world she could set her mind to.
Giles' mind was racing, 'What have I done? Was she really ready for that?' He barely heard a thing the doctor was saying for him, and answered in monosyllables. He idly wondered if Buffy would still be there when he walked back out, and shook his head. 'Well old man. Either way you've done it now. Logan was right, sometimes you just have to try even when you don't know what the consequences will be."
Giles grimaced and headed back to the waiting room. Buffy's head snapped up and she smiled at him. She didn't look angry as she approached him and looked up. Her eyes were sparkling as she giggled.
"So, Rupert.aren't you going to give your girlfriend a kiss?"
"G-g-girlfriend?" Giles looked stunned, he couldn't possibly have heard her right.
Buffy bit her bottom lip, hadn't he meant that he wanted to be with her when he'd said he was in love with her? "Giles?" her voice was shaky.
"My girlfriend?" It slowly started to sink in that she had meant exactly what she'd said. His smile started off small and worked its way into a full blown grin within seconds. His arms reached out to pull her to him. "My girlfriend."
Their first kiss was slow, deliberate and full of passion. A million thoughts raced through their minds as their lips met. Buffy's tongue ran along Giles' bottom lip, begging for entry. She wanted to get as close to him as she could now that she'd finally admitted to herself what she wanted. Giles' hand snaked around the back of her neck and he was amazed at how perfectly she fitted she was to him. Someone coughed, and they broke apart slowly as they remembered where they were.
"Wow." Buffy said securing Giles larger hand in her own.
"Yes, quite." Giles said in a bit of a daze.
"Come on, Giles. We better get you home. You'll need some rest before Logan gets here." Buffy led him out towards the Jeep. It took them another 15 minutes to get there, as they had to keep stopping to discover more about how to make the other moan.
"Buuuffffy." Giles moaned as she nuzzled his neck. "We better." he swallowed. "If we go back to my place we won't need to stop every.oh dear lord! Buffy!"
"Your place?" she mumbled against his neck, "Good idea." Reluctantly she stopped her petting and they finally made it to the Jeep.
"Giles?"
"Mmm?"
"Thank you." Buffy smiled and reached out for his hand. "I feel as if I've had my blinders taken off - finally. I knew you were there, and somewhere deep down I knew you were the one...but I was scared. No one has ever cared for me the way you do, the way you always have. Then again, no one has ever kissed as well as you either."
"That's not all I do well." There was a hint of Ripper in his grin.
"GILES!" Buffy giggled, and quickly put the Jeep in gear.
