Harmony, it wasn't something that happened very often in Sunnydale. No I don't mean Harmony the vampire; of course she's always there I mean harmony. Harmony? Okay, ya know peace, happiness, happy fluffy bunny feelings, those kinds of things. The past two months had been spent in bliss so strong in it's intensity that some may say it was savage. Buffy and Giles automatically fell into couple hood with ease, it wasn't much different than their relationship had been of late anyway, there was just more kissing, more looks, more whispers, more private jokes, long glances across the room, touching, and of course kissing, oh I said that already didn't I? My bad, oh well there was so much kissing that it warranted another mention.
Anyway, their friends accepted it without hesitation. Xander couldn't think of a better guy for Buffy in fact Giles was the only boyfriend he found to be acceptable for Buffy and vice versa. He actually made each one of them fill out a compatibility test from Cosmo, neither one wanted to ask why exactly he read Cosmo, but they both thought that it had something to do with the sex tips. Tara and Willow were giddy to say the least. They wanted Buffy to be happy and they wanted Giles to be happy both were about ready to concoct schemes to make happiness possible, but little did they know that the puffy suit would beat them to it. Now Giles was happy and Buffy was happy and they were happy together killing to birds with one stone was great in Willow's opinion. Her only clause to them dating was that they'd never break up. For some strange reason everyone had a clause for their love life. Anya was without question the happiest for them, not because she thought that Buffy and Giles were destined to be together, but because she figured this way Buffy would give him lots of orgasms which would eventually result in Giles giving her a raise. The thought made Anya squeal and almost grab Xander and drag him off to the basement of The Magic Box when they had come out as a couple. Dawn was the person Buffy worried about the most. The most important person in Buffy's life had to be Dawn and if Dawn didn't like her new relationship then there would be some major problems. Buffy couldn't deal with Dawn's objections, but at the same time she wasn't about to break up with Giles. Dawn, however, like most teenagers was fickle and had developed a more than small crush on Giles over the past year, so of course she was very happy with his heightened presence in the house even if it was to make out with her sister.
They had issues with the age difference, but nothing they couldn't handle. One of Giles favorite things to do when they were in public together and someone obviously thought they were father and daughter was to kiss her as passionately as he could right in front of them and see the look of either disgust or shock on their faces. Being with Buffy really brought out his playful side, but it also accentuated his homebody-ness. Many of their dates would consist of going to the park for a picnic or just sitting at home to curl up on the couch to watch a romantic movie. Buffy was thankful that she was dating Giles and not Xander, first of all because Xander was married, and second his idea of a romantic movie was probably something titled "Magical Secretions" or "Ernest Goes to the Whorehouse." She shuddered at the thought, then she looked at Giles, she was curled up in his lap on the couch, and then she had a thought of her own, maybe they could make their own video some day. Buffy was so happy she couldn't even describe it, but she would soon find out that happiness didn't last long on The Hellmouth. Something always had to come along to screw everything up. This time that something was her boyfriend's father, who she knew by no other name than Mr. Giles.
Two weeks ago he had walked through the doors of The Magic Box to do nothing, but cause trouble. He had only really stayed for two days, but in those two days he had managed to cause enough damage that Giles had been in a very bad mood ever since. Buffy tried to get Giles to talk to her about his father, but he refused to tell her what they had said to each other and whenever she tried to get him to speak it usually ended with him getting upset and them getting into a fight. So Giles was yelling at her and she was yelling at him to defend herself which really pissed her off because she didn't know what they were fighting about to begin with. Buffy didn't know much about Giles father, but she did know that she didn't like him. He had managed to be insufferably rude to her, he wouldn't even tell her his first name when he had walked into the shop, and he'd turned her boyfriend into a complete basket case. Buffy was sick of it, she was sick of his attitude and his erratic mood, she wanted her Giles back. She missed the looks across the room, his smile, his beautiful eyes sparkling at her, picnics, walks on the beach, cuddling on the couch, and she wanted her smoochies!
After two rather miserable weeks she had concluded that something had to be done to break him out of his funk. They had training scheduled for that day and she had shown up as usual to find him waiting for her, instead of greeting her with a smile and a kiss he greeted her with a grunt and a complaint.
"You're late Buffy."
Buffy gave him an odd look, "No I'm early and you are just really early and really grumpy."
He only glared at her suggesting that they get started. Not wanting to argue she complied and they started their work out. He was being more aggressive than usual, which proved to be a bit of a challenge for Buffy. She didn't want to give it her all in fear that she would hurt him, but she soon found that she had to because of the force he was unleashing on her. She was moving fast to block his advances, but since she wasn't countering with her own strikes he was able to get far more punches in than one of her usual opponents would. Eventually he managed to trip her up and land a hard blow to her abdomen knocking the wind out of her. When she finally regained her breath she got up from the mat and turned on him in anger. "Damn it Giles! Okay that's it! I am sick and tired of this attitude! Just because you have issues with your father doesn't mean that you can keep taking it out on me!" Giles looked at her with an intense frown clearly ashamed with himself, "Buffy, I know and I am sorry, it's just that…" he trailed off not wanting to go on.
"It's just what Giles? Come on talk to me. You know you can tell me anything, I thought we trusted each other? What's bothering you, and I'm guessing it has something to do with your father."
"Well, you're correct it is my father. I haven't seen the man in 15 years and in that time he has barely spoken to me about anything other than the Watcher's Council or my slayer. Actually the last time we spoke was when Travers re-instated me. Father called to ask how long it would be before I made a disaster of everything again and how much more damage I saw fit to inflict upon you." He snorted loudly is disgust, "He was always a bastard."
Buffy was afraid to ask, but she had to know, "So what was so urgent that he felt like he had to put in an appearance this time?"
"Apparently, news travels fast. He heard about you and I and the turn that our relationship had taken and he felt he should come here to voice him immense disapproval. He also saw fit to tell me how disappointed he is in me and how badly this makes me and the family look. He said I represented everything a watcher should not be and I was most likely the worst thing to have ever entered your life. He made a very long point about how inappropriate we are for each other."
"No wonder you've been so upset lately."
"Oh that wasn't the worst of it. He wanted to know if we were sleeping together and if I'd managed to get you pregnant yet. When I said no, he went on to lecture me about how that would bring shame upon the family, ruin his image and mine, and ruin your life because then you'd be tied down to me for the rest of your life. He made it very clear that he thought we should stop acting like lovesick teenagers and start being adults."
"Oh I'm so going to murder him!" That didn't even get a smile from him. He stood there like a statue chewing on his bottom lip with his mouth drawn in a tight line, the most angered expression residing on his face, arms crossed briskly over his chest. Buffy walked up to him stroking his arm lightly she kissed his cheek then wrapped her arms around him leaning her chin against his chest. "Are you okay?" He sighed heavily not responding to her hug, but not pushing her away either, "I'll be alright I just want to wallow in my misery for a while longer, Luv."
"Isn't there anything I can do to make you happy?"
"I'm afraid not Luv, just leave me be."
"Will you at least let me try?"
Looking at her large pout he decided to at least humor her. "Very well if you must." She told him to remain where he was and as he watched her retreating back disappear into the corners of the training room wondering what she was bout to do and how he could react without disappointing her. Giles head suddenly turned at the sound of the stereo playing a loud pounding beat, music he didn't normally listen to.
Everybody dance now
Everybody dance now
Buffy jumped out from behind the changing screen right into the middle of the room, but still a far distance from him dressed in the puffy suit. His mind wandered back to that day when he had done the same for her, it was a sweet, but unoriginal thought that she'd want to return the favor. Seeing her did make his mood lighten, but he wasn't about to let her know that, he wanted to see just what she would do so he made his face as blank as possible and stood there watching the show. As the music continued Buffy began jogging in place and time with the music.
Give me the music
Give me the music
Everybody dance now
Everybody dance now
The jogging motion continued only Buffy added the thrusting of her hips to accentuate every beat.
Yeah yeah yeah
Everybody dance now
Yeah
Everybody
The sight of her in the puffy suit was hilarious yet Giles remained looking emotionless. Buffy was so little and the puffy suit was so big that if she didn't have slayer strength she wouldn't even be able to move in it. As it was her movements came out muddled because the bulk of the suit made her waddle a bit when she moved in it. It was increasingly harder to refrain from laughing when Buffy decided to try her hand at break dancing to the fast paced song complete with a spin on the floor.
Left to right (groove) work me all night
Come on lets sweat (sweat sweat) baby
Let the music take control (control control)
Let the rhythm move you
Sweat……sweat
Let the music take our soul
Let the rhythm move you
Everybody dance now
Now Buffy was changing her moves her facial expressions showing she was really getting into it. Buffy had her arms stretched out in front of her bent at the elbows, hands closed into fists, her puffy legs were spread a little and her knees where also bent. She began stepping to the beat again thrusting her hips in one direction and her fists in the opposite way each time the pounding beat would reach its climax.
Move everybody dance now
Everybody dance now
The music is my life
Let the music take control of your heart and soul
Unfold your body is free and behold
Dance till you can't dance till you can't dance no more
Get on the floor and get a blow
Then come back and upside down easy now
Let me see you move left to right groove
Work me all night
The music is my life
Everybody dance now (x3)
Everybody
Come on let's sweat (sweat sweat) baby
Let the music take control (control control)
Let the rhythm move you
Sweat (sweat sweat) sweat
Let the music take your soul (soul soul)
Let the rhythm move you
Da da da da da da da da da da (x2)
As the music began to fade Buffy stopped enjoying the dancing or what she called dancing that she had been so involved with. Giles thought she should stick to slow dancing. He kept the blank stare plastered on her face as she was obviously disappointed that she hadn't lightened his mode. "No, huh?" Well, that was alright she had a few more tricks up her sleeve as the music began to switch to a medley.
As the new song began to play Buffy wobbled over to Giles grabbing his arms trying to get him to dance with her, but he refused to budge no matter how hard she urged him. Instead of giving up she looked deep into his eyes and began singing the words along to the CD putting in as much feeling as she could with all the appropriate facial gestures.
Ah, everybody get on the floor, let's dance
Don't fight the feeling give yourself a chance
As the song got livelier Buffy turned her backside to him shaking he butt to the beat thrusting her hips back and forth, she backed up to grind against him every few seconds then moved forward only to repeat the action.
Shake, shake, shake – shake, shake, shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty
Oh, shake, shake, shake – shake, shake, shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty
When the song started to end Buffy danced away from Giles and as she did so he gave her a playful smack on the butt. "Ow," she exclaimed not really meaning it as she turned to face him still swaying to take a look at the grin on his face and the result of her grinding against him.
"Ohhhh, looks like I'm not the only one who gets turned on by the puffy suit." She was rewarded by one of his patented Ripper glares. "Ohh, so it's going to be like that huh?" He took the smile off his face again and she stuck her tongue out at him. "Well, that's alright." Buffy then proceeded to do her version of the "puffy hustle."
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
Buffy hustled on over to Giles taking his hand and accentuating the next verse.
When you take me by the hand,
tell me I'm your lovin man
When you give me all your love and do it
Babe, the very best you can
Buffy began circling his body, running her hands over his chest as she went, leaning in every now and then to place a kiss on his neck, ear, or chest whichever was closer to her. She still sang and swayed her hips to the music.
Oh, that's the way I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
When she was facing him again she wrapped her arms around his neck rubbing he puffy pelvis covered in an inflatable diaper thing that the sumo wrestlers wore against his.
When I get to be in your arms,
when we're all all alone
(Buffy moved in close to nip at Giles ear as she continued to sing and grind.)
When you whisper sweet in my ear,
when you turn, turn me on
Buffy pushed him away just as he was beginning to respond and retreated back to the middle of the room to do the electric slide in the puffy suit. Giles wasn't sure how he was doing it, but he was managing not fall to the ground in fits of laughter.
Oh, that's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
That's the way, I like it
The song was coming to its end again when Buffy looked up to see if Giles was turning purple from holding in his laughter. When he appeared to be unaffected by her version of the electric slide she decided that he wasn't going to just stand there anymore. She walked up to him grabbed his arms and placed them around her waist as best she could. She tried to wrap hers around his neck, but the suit made it impossible, so she just placed them around his forearms. Giles held her tight getting use to the feel of the puffy suit as they began to dance playfully and a bit provocatively to the new song, a smile lit up his face at the lyrics.
Baby, babe let's get together
Honey, honey me and you,
And do the things, oh, do the things
That we like to do
Oh, do a little dance, make a little love,
Get down tonight, get down tonight,
Do a little dance, make a little love
Get down tonight, get down tonight
Baby, babe I'll meet you same place,
Same time, where we can, oh, get together and
Ease up our mind
Oh, do a little dance, make a little love,
Get down tonight, get down tonight,
Do a little dance, make a little love
Get down tonight, get down tonight
When the song finally ended the happy couple held on to each other both laughing hysterically. When Giles regained some of his breath he captured her lips in an intensely passionate kiss. They finally broke apart when they heard a squeal coming from the doorway.
Dawn was staring at them with wide eyes, her jaw dropped open. Buffy and Giles started laughing again as they realized how this all must look. "Oh my god is this some creepy sex thing? You guys are so weird!" Buffy nodded and started to move to the new song that had just begun Giles followed her movements as well.
Everybody's doin' a brand-new dance, now
(Come on baby, do the Loco-motion)
I know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance now
(Come on baby, do the Loco-motion)
Buffy grabbed Dawn's hands, "No, you can't make me do this! Buffy!" Buffy just continued to drag Dawn along into her and Giles dance.
My little baby sister can do it with me;
It's easier than learning your A-B-C's,
so come on, come on, do the Loco-motion with me.
You gotta swing your hips, now. Come on, baby.
Jump up. Jump back. Well, now, I think you've got the knack.
Now that you can do it, let's make a chain, now.
(Come on baby, do the Loco-motion)
A chug-a chug-a motion like a railroad train, now.
(Come on baby, do the Loco-motion)
Do it nice and easy, now, don't lose control:
A little bit of rhythm and a lot of soul.
So come on, come on, do the Loco-motion with me.
Move around the floor in a Loco-motion.
(Come on baby, do the Loco-motion)
Do it holding hands if you get the notion.
(Come on baby, do the Loco-motion)
There's never been a dance that's so easy to do.
It even makes you happy when you're feeling blue,
so come on, come on, do the Loco-motion with me.
The happy trio danced around the training room oblivious to Anya standing at a far enough distance as not to be seen with her camera taking blackmail pictures.
