Finally, September 1st arrived. The students poured in to the great hall where they all saw a fifth table with a group sitting at it. All were older than the average student except 1: A girl about Ginny Weasley's age. The others were in their 20's or older. And, to Hermoine and Ron's surprise, Harry was not sitting at the table with the new banner over it. They had it in their heads that Harry could and would find the Fifth House of Hogwarts but he was not sitting at this fifth table. Next to them, Ginny stood. She had received a special owl a week ago saying she was to be re-sorted with select others. She saw whom they were by the students who stood by the table and one, lone Slytherin: Draco Malfoy.
He and Ginny were the first up to the Sorting Hat along with Neville Longbottom, Colin Creevy and Dennis Creevy. The five had all received owls stating they were to be re-sorted for some reason. Ginny had no idea why but she was excited. Maybe she would finally be away from the perfect Trio. She knew about the jokes Harry's dad pulled. She had read about them. McGonnogall had given her an account of what had happened to Ethan Rayne and Ginny was disgusted by it. And by the fact that Harry thought his father was so great. It sickened her. It also sickened her how they had turned on Remus. Even her mum had been furious about that. All because he said No to Sirius Black. Ginny thought he was the bravest man ever for that.
Draco went first and he looked eager to be sorted out of Slytherin. His father had disappeared after last year so he was looking for something Other than what his father had planned for him. He sat on the stool with the hat on his head and waited. The Hat spoke to him as he placed it on his head.
'Well, Mr. Malfoy,' it said. 'I see you are willing to see what else is there for you. The Queen of Witches has a special destiny for you if you are willing to accept it. Do you want it?'
'Not the Dark mark?' Draco thought hopefully. The Hat chuckled.
'No, not the Dark mark,' the Hat told him. 'But you don't have to be a goody two shoes either. The Queen has a dark side. She likes her followers to indulge in their darkness and accept it before it devours them.'
'I want that then,' Draco said with a smile, a real smile.
'Very well then,' the Hat said in to his mind. It finished with its bellow of "House of Hecate!"
Draco smiled as he got off the stool and made his way over to the table with the older group seated at it. Ginny swallowed a she put the hat on and was asked by it if she wanted to be part of the new house. She managed to say yes because she really did and received a booming "House of Hecate" like Draco's. Colin, Dennis and Neville were all sorted there.
"Gin, you can't," Ron began as she made her way to her new table.
"I most certainly can," Ginny said. "That Hat thinks I'll do well there so That's where I'm going."
"But---but Gin, Harry isn't in that house," Ron said. Ginny snorted.
"Then I should be really happy there, shouldn't I?" she asked as she made her way away from them. "After all, she called over her shoulder, "I certainly can't trust him not to turn on me because I say something he doesn't like about his precious Godfather and Father. Even or is that Especially when it is true, Harry? Your father Hurt someone. So, you know, I can't trust you not to turn on me if I say something that you don't want to hear to your face and I really don't feel like stroking your ego or any other part of your anatomy. Good bye."
Harry and his friends watched as Ginny walked off to join her new Housemates without a backward glance. Ron knew his mother was not happy with any of them about turning on Remus but he never thought his little Gin would be like that too. After all, it was Harry Remus had upset with his cruel words about James. Why wouldn't they turn on Remus? But, Gin had just spat at them for what they had done.
"We don't need her anyway, Ron," Harry said. "We're fine. Just the way we are."
"Elite-est," was muttered as someone walked past the table. Harry spun to face the person and found himself looking up and up and up. The man in front of him was huge.
"I'm Angel," he said. "A member of his Ginny's new house. You really don't want to make me mad so lets Not harass your sister because she chose to go there. Oh, and insult Remus and die. He's one of mine now and to hurt him in any way is to ask to meet my dark side. You wont survive the encounter."
The Dark Man then walked---no, he stalked to the table and sat, laying a possessive hand on each new member making it clear to any and all that to touch them in any way would be a bad idea. He sat and ate with his house and Harry suddenly remembered why he did not want to make Angel angry. He would tell them in the dorm but he knew you did not Piss around with the Scourge of Europe. No one did and lived to tell of it. No. One.
