This is my response to Gileswench's Christmas Challenge for 2002.
Due to my health playing up, I still have the last three chapters to write. I shall endeavour to finish them as soon as possible and get it all posted. But it's Boxing Day here now and I think it is time to start posting.
This the third (and probably final) installment in my now-trilogy of B/G
future Christmas fics. The other two are "Mistletoe and Wine" (2000) and
"Ice and Fire" (2001).

read the other two, as this story follows on from things set up in those
two. However, I have done my best to make it a stand-alone fic and I
hope it is.

Notes: I started the first of these in the middle of season five - it is
now the middle of season seven, which means a number of the scenarios I
set up back then are now totally irrelevant. I've had to keep to MY
future history, which means some things that have happened since
mid-season five happened in this universe and others didn't. The most
major changes are probably that:
1. Xander and Anya never broke up
2. Tara didn't die
3. Connor and all the storyline never happened.
THE CHALLENGE:
Due date: Dec. 26, as per tradition.
Pairing: Giles/Anybody. Genfic, threesomes and orgies also more than
welcome.
Timeline: Past/Present/Futurefic all welcome.
Rating: Anything goes from G to NC17. But please, if there is graphic
sex involved, make sure all participants are over the age of 18 and
consent fully in advance to whatever sexual activity they participate
in.
ALL of the following are required: a holiday tradition connected to
any of the following holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice,
Saturnalia, Giles drinking something other than tea or whiskey, an
unexpected phone call or guest, someone thanking Giles for something
he did for them in the past.
At Least THREE of the following are required: chocolate, someone other
than Giles singing, a stray cat or dog, someone taking a photograph,
someone putting blue nail polish on Giles' toenails while he's asleep,
A happy memory of any of the following deceased characters: Joyce,
Jenny, Tara, Gay Larry, Principal Flutie, Randall.
That's it. Make me laugh, make me cry, make me sigh. It's all good.
It's all Giles all the time, and that's enough for anyone to get
celebrating!
