AN: William was never given a last name in any of the Buffy or Angel episodes so I have given him a last name based on two brothers from two of my favorite historical romance books

Giles is sitting at his desk with his head in his hands when he hears the door open. Looking up he sees Buffy, the love of his life, his soul mate, walk in.

Its about time to leave for the airport.

Giles nodded. I know. I was just thinking of when Uncle Merrick found the book and it talked of her soul mate. She has waited so long to finally bond to him. When Spike died, I never thought she would. I thought he was gone for good. I just couldnt see how he could come back; and then he did. When we heard about Spike being back I didnt know how to tell her about him.

Did she know Spike was her soul mate?

Not consciously. One night while we were on our way here I walked past her and in her sleep she called out the name William. When she is tired she tends to talk in her sleep, so I asked her who William was. She said that he is her soul mate, Anya said so.

Buffy walked up to Giles and put her arms around him. How do you feel about that?

I know that if she even feels half of what I feel for you then she will finally be whole. Its what she has been waiting for all her life.

Giles looked into Buffys eyes and saw the love he had for her reflected back to him. Unable to resist, Giles placed his hands on the sides of Buffys face, gently pulled her down and kissed her.

After a minute Buffy pulled back from the kiss and smiled. We have to get going.

Rupert rose hugging Buffy. I know. Lets go.

Together they walked out of the office and towards the lobby where the vans were waiting outside to take them to the airport. On the way Buffy thought of something.

By the way, whos the doctor going with us?

Rupert smiled. There was no real choice . She needs a kind and understanding female doctor, so I asked

You asked Erin to be her doctor. Perfect choice. Buffy said nodding her head.

Erin Hunnicutt is the aunt of a Slayer from San Francisco. When she first found out about her niece she refused to believe in vampires and demons until one assaulted them. As both Buffy and her niece fought back then dusted him, Erin at first couldnt believe what she saw then the doctor in her became intrigued. Ever since she has been one of the Cleveland physicians for the Slayers.

Arriving at the vans Buffy saw that the medical staff, all women, were getting in the middle van. Then seeing Erin and Buffy called out to her.

Erin stopped and turned towards the two. Hi!

How are you? Do you have all you need?

Im fine and yes I have everything. Im hoping that I wont have to use any of it. If what Angel and Wesley said is true, that she somehow has a connection to all of the Slayers, Im hoping we can use that link to calm her down and, in a way, start her healing.

Rupert spoke up. I hope so too. Knowing what all she went through at the hands of that monster I wish he was alive so I could get a hold of him and do them to him.

Both Buffy and Erin smiled. That was said with the heart of either a brother or father. That could be helpful in establishing her trust in you.

I hope so. Knowing how she feels about men, we want to establish right off that Rupert is a leader and one to be obeyed. Buffy said.

Rupert then spoke up. Erin can you also check on Laura. She has been on the go for the last week and you know her and airplanes. She promised she would get some rest while in L. A. but I dont think they were there that long. Also there is a vampire on board with them. His name is Spike, I think you have heard of him, he might need looked at as well. You should also know that Laura and Spike have bonded. We think it is a complete bonding so you wont have to worry about her being jealous over him.

Erin nodded, I talked to Angel a few minutes ago so I know what to expect with Spike. Then looked at her watch. Lets get going.

Erin got onto the medical van while Buffy and Rupert got into the front van and took off for the airport.

They arrived at the airport and pulled up to the hanger just as the plane landed. For the next few minutes everyone stood anxiously by while it taxied into the hanger and came to a stop. The medical team were to be the first on board to take Dana off. Erin figured that the sedative should be about to wear off and they were worried about her and the others on the plane should she come out of it with Spike so close.

The plane had just come to a stop and Laura looked out of the window. He was there against the wall. To anyone not close to him he looked calm, but to Laura he also looked a little anxious. She tried reaching out to him but ended up reaching William. She looked over to him and smiled.

Sorry! Old habit. Hes been a part of me for so long that it will take some getting use to.

Its ok. Dru was a part of me for so long that it was hard when she was gone. But now we have each other.

Laura smiled. Yes we do. I still need to show you my life.

Later. Lets get her taken care of first. And we have to face Buffy and Rupert. I have to admit Im a little worried how theyre going to react to me being back.

Back? What do you mean? Where did you go?

Laura, I gave my life to save the Slayers at the Hellmouth.

Yes, I know that. I know when you died. I felt it.

What? How?

The way I figure it is that all the times we talked, or you saw me, or I saw you, we started bonding. So when you died I felt it. It was a burning/ripping feeling and then I felt such a loss. Such emptiness. Laura thought of something. Wait, how long have you been back?

About three months now I think, why?

Laura smiled and nodded her head. Three months ago I was coming back from a disastrous mission. I had been on the go for four months, contacting the new slayers, and when I got to the receptionist at the Windsor I passed out. We all thought it was from exhaustion but now that I think about it, I havent felt the emptiness since. Somehow I knew you were back. Laura smiled touching his cheek lightly.

Spike smiled at Laura and was about to kiss her when the door opened and a lady walked in and right up to Dana. She was an older looking woman. Laura recognized her right off.

Erin. Youre to be her doctor?

Yes. Now what can you tell me about her so far?

Shes been out ever since Angel brought her from the warehouse, here is her medical records I got from the asylum. Laura handed Danas records over to Erin.

Erin took a moment to scan the records and shaking her head. They havent even really tried to help her. They only kept her drugged. Erin looked up as four of her staff came aboard the plane. She directed them to take Dana off the plane. Then she addressed the slayers. Slayers. We have a theory that she is somehow connected to all of you so I want you to stay close to her because she should be waking up anytime now and I would like to try and keep her calm without using any drugs. I want you all to send her soothing thoughts of home and family. While the girls started to leave with Dana, Erin turned back to Laura and saw Spike standing next to her. Youre Spike arent you?

Spike nodded then Laura spoke up.

Erin this is William Thornton. William this is Erin Hunnicutt. Erin is one of the doctors here in Cleveland. She has a niece who is a slayer.

Please to meet you doc. William spoke up.

My pleasure. Now while they take Dana off the plane I have a few questions for you two. Laura how are you doing? I know you have been on the go for the last week.

Laura smiled. Im fine. I rested a little while we were in L. A. and William made me lay down and sleep on the way back.

Erins eyes widened. You slept on a plane? How?

I dont know. I laid on the couch with William and he started humming a song to me. Laura thought for a moment. It was Yesterday by The Beatles. Next thing I know Im waking up with the plane preparing to land. Laura didnt mention about them sharing the dream time. That was something between William and herself.

Erin thought for a moment. It could have something to do with your bonding. You know Rupert and Buffy can calm one another, all the bonded pairs have that effect on each other.

Then Erins attention turned to Spike. And you. How do you feel? Are you recovered from what she did to you? How can I help you?

Spike smile at the kindly woman before him. Im fine. I could use a pint or two of blood soon.

Erin smiled. Weve thought of that. I put a couple of pints in the van before we left the Windsor. Angel and I have emailed each other over the past few months and he has been a great help to me in understanding vampires. If you dont mind I would like to compare notes with you so I can better understand your personal needs. He also called me before we came to the airport and let me know what I could do to help you. Now before we get anymore distracted lets get off the plane and take care of her.

Erin turned to exit the plane when Lauras voice drew her back.

Erin? How is Rupert?

Hes fine Laura. He is just anxious to see you for himself, to know that youre ok, but he knows about you and Spike. Dont worry. Hes happy for you.

Laura nodded and smiled. Lets go. I need to see him also. He has been a part of me for a very long time. Its going to take some getting use to, him not being here. Laura pointed to her head.

They got to the door of the plane when Erin looked down and realized that Dana was awake and starting to panic. She looked back at Spike and said, Stay here for a minute or two until we can get her calmed down. A vampire near her could set her off and I would really rather not use any drugs if I can help it.

Then Erin turned and headed down the stairs. Girls remember what I told you. Surround her with yourselves and with thoughts of home and family.

A couple of minutes later all the Slayers except Laura surrounded Dana sending her soothing thoughts to calm her down. Thoughts that she was safe, that she was with family now.

Danas eyes widened. For the first time in a very long time her nightmare was gone, and she began to cry healing tears. It would be a long process but with the right help now she would heal.

Right at that moment Rupert came up to her and Dana instantly went on the defensive. But Laura sent thoughts of her love for her brother to Dana.

Dana started remembering her baby brother and cried harder.

Laura felt the feelings coming from Dana. Oh Dear God William. She had a baby brother she cherished. Laura looked at him. I have to help her. I know in a small way what she is going through.

Spike hugged Laura. Go on Love. I wait here for you. Erin was right, a vampire could set her off.

Laura looked up at William and smiled then turned and headed down the stairs to join the others in calming Dana. Feeling Danas anguish over her loss of her brother Lauras thoughts reached out to Dana.

Remember his life and your love for him, let go of his death. Morn him and then let it go. Its time to move on and start the healing.>

Laura came up to Rupert and when he looked at her she hugged him. She had to touch him to let him know that she was alright.

Dana looked from Laura to Rupert and smiled.

Rupert looked down at Dana and gently took her hand. We are your family now. You are not alone anymore. Im Rupert Giles although everyone just calls me Giles. Im the head Watcher of the Slayers and Watchers Council. Rupert then pointed to Buffy. And this is Buffy Giles, my wife and head Slayer of the Council. We will see that you are properly taken care of by people who will look out for your best interest.

Sensing Danas jumbled and chaotic thoughts Rupert let go of her hand and turned to Buffy.

Buffy also sensing what Rupert felt concurred. She cant keep her slayer powers. She is too big of a risk to the others, especially with Spike here, for her to keep them. Ill talk to Willow when we get back.> She then turned to Dana.

Im Buffy, she then pointed to the older gentle looking woman. And this is Erin Honeycutt. She will be your main doctor. She and the others will go with you to our Cleveland Headquarters. You should know right now that a vampire will be there soon. Spike is a good vampire and he has a soul so no trying to stake him. Now lets get you back to the Windsor.

At peace for the first time since she was a little girl Dana smiled. Thank you.
