The bride was pacing back and forth in the dressing room. The others with her were at their wits end as to what to do.
“I don’t know what more we can do. I’ve had to fix her eyes five times now; she’s even messed up her hair this time. Go and ask him what more we can do?” said the first girl.
The other girl left to ask him.
Five minutes later she returned. She held out a CD. “He said to play this and he’ll be right here.”
“He can’t see her before the wedding. It’s bad luck.”
“I told him that and he said don’t worry; he’ll take care of it”
The first girl nodded her head. “That’s why he had us bring a CD player today. He knew she would panic. What on the CD?”
“He said some of their favorite songs. Play it and let’s get her calmed.”
The first girl put the CD into the player and pressed play. Instantly a song began playing. The two girls recognized the song right off and knew it would calm her down. It was Shakira’s ‘Underneath Your Clothes’. The bride stopped pacing, stared at nothing and smiled. You could almost hear a collective sigh from the others in the room. It was the right song to play.
The two oldest guided the bride back to the chair and started fixing her hair for the second time today.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Everyone in the room turned to the door as it opened a little bit and a hand came around holding a glass of wine.
“Are you alright now luv?”
Smiling even bigger the bride got up and went to the door, took the glass and held tight to his hand. “I’m fine now. Thanks for the song. You know just what I need when I need it.”
“We’ve already done this before and the only reason we’re doing it again is because your sister said she would never forgive you.”
She looked at her sister and smiled “I know. It’s partly her fault. We just couldn’t pass up that opportunity while we were in Vegas.”
“Everyone is here do you want me to tell them to start?”
Her sister spoke up. “Give us five minutes please?”
“Alright five minutes.” He said.
The bride brought his hand up and kissed it and in a whisper said, “I Love You Rupert!”
He whispered back. “I Love You Buffy!”
She let go of his hand and he waved to everyone then closed the door. She turned back to the others. “I’m sorry I panicked.”
They all smiled back at her. Willow spoke up, “Now let’s get you fixed up.”
Buffy sat down and took a drink of the wine Rupert brought her.
Six minutes later she was walking down the aisle to the man of her dreams for the second time this month.
