Notes: Okay, so keeping with the re-writing of season 3, here's some scenes
for "Anne". It's short, not much happens, but I somehow felt like
writing it instead of working on my homework, so here it is.
Okay, the way I see it is that even though Angel had his soul at the
end of season 2, Drusilla and Spike took revenge on Buffy, Angel,
and the gang, somehow (I haven't figured that part out)and things
ended up very similarly to how they ended origionally, with Buffy
being expelled, her having to kill Angel, and Buffy still being able
to use that cool "I have me" line.

Sunnydale High School library. Students are busy looking for books they will need during the semester. Willow and Giles walk out of the stacks on the mezzanine level. Willow has several books in her arms.
Giles: So, no joy at the cemetery?
They come down the stairs.
Willow: No, he got away. We still have some glitches in the system, like... vampires getting away. But I think we're improving. (smiles)
They split up as Giles heads through the door to go behind the check- out counter.
Giles: For God's sake be careful. (they meet at the counter) I mean, uh, I appreciate your efforts to keep the vampire population down until Buffy returns, but, uh... Well, if anything should happen to you and... you should be killed, I should take it somewhat amiss.
Giles scans Willow's books to check them out.
Willow: You'd be cranky?
Giles: Entirely.
Willow: Well, we try not to get killed. That's part of our whole mission statement. 'Don't get killed.'
She takes the books and stacks them together again. Jenny walks in.
Jenny: Sounds like a good mission statement. Hi.
Giles doesn't say anything in return, but he does break into a wide grin at the sight of her.
Willow: Hi! When did you get back?
Jenny: About eight hours ago.
Willow: I guess you're not in the mood for a wicca study session after school today, then, huh?
Jenny: All I want to do after school today is get some sleep. Maybe next week. I still have to unpack and stuff. But if you wanna get together to catch up sometime before then…
Willow: Sounds good! I'll talk to you later.
She leaves. Jenny turns her attention to Giles, who is checking books out for other students, and doing other librarian work.
Jenny: You hear from Buffy at all yet?
Giles: Uh, no. I'm afraid not.
Jenny: But no news can also be good news. Right?
Giles smiles at her gratefully.
Giles: How was your trip?
Jenny: (walks around the counter to stand next to him) Hellish. I thought that month would never end. Now that Angel's disappeared, my family had to find someone else to make miserable, and they apparently settled on me.
Giles: Weren't they happy to see you?
Jenny: Of course they were. But with my family, being happy to see me translates to huge guilt trips and trying to convince me not to come back here.
Giles: Ah.
Jenny: I told them about us.
The last of the students leave. Giles goes into his office. Jenny follows.
Giles: Really? And?
Jenny: They spent the rest of the month trying to set me up with these "nice Romany boys". (Giles shuts the door) It was torture. (she wraps her arms around him) I missed you so much.
Giles: (pulls her closer to him) I missed you.
They kiss, deeply, basically starved for each other.
Jenny: You free tonight?
Giles: Well, uh, yes. Didn't you say you wanted to get some sleep, though?
Jenny: You don't expect me to tell Willow what I *really* wanna do tonight, do you?
He smiles at her and they kiss more.
Cut to computer class, where Jenny is busy shutting down computers. Giles walks up to her.
Giles: Jenny, I'm sorry, I can't make it tonight. I have a lead about Buffy, and the plane leaves in just under an hour.
Jenny: (thrown off) Oh. Uh, okay. When will you be back?
Giles: I'm not sure. Tomorrow afternoon, I guess.
Jenny: Will you come to school?
Giles: I don't know. I really have to go now.
Jenny: I'll come by your place tomorrow, then.
Giles: Alright. (smiles at her) Good bye. (leaves)
Jenny: Bye. (calls after him) Good Luck!
She watches him leave and, disappointed and distressed, goes back to shutting down the computers.
Cut to Giles' apartment. Jenny is waiting on the couch for him, reading one of his books. She hears the door opening, jumps up and goes to the door. Giles comes in looking pensive.
Jenny: Hi.
Giles: (looks up) Oh! I- I wasn't expecting you to be here so soon.
Jenny: (shrugs) Well… (beat) nothing?
Giles shakes his head.
Jenny: I'm sure as soon as she's ready to be found, she'll-
Giles: I know.
Jenny: You still gotta look for her.
Giles nods.
They stand kind of awkwardly for awhile.
Jenny: So…
Giles: (stares at her contemplatively) I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to put up with me like this.
Jenny: Put up with… ?
Giles: Me, taking off to look for Buffy, spending half my time worrying about her… you deserve more than that.
Jenny: I don't mind. It's what you do. You're the Watcher. (she goes up to him, clasping her hands around him) It's part of that whole Rupert Giles package that I'm so crazy about.
He smiles, kind of bashfully.
Giles: I do love you. You know that?
Jenny: (sarcastic) No, I never noticed. Now stop being silly and kiss me?
He is happy to oblige.
