"Well, I'll just go," Willow said nervously, "and let you do your. . . thing. You don't want me in the way."
"Yes. We should go," Wesley agreed. "Angel, maybe we should give them some time alone." Wesley grabbed Angel's arm and tugged him toward the door.
Buffy watched them leave, then turned her attention to Giles. "Are you scared?" she asked.
"A bit," he admitted. "Though I'm more worried about you. You've been through a lot in the last two days." He sat on the bed and took her hand in his. "I really should have told you about this sooner. I just didn't know what to say."
"Well, it's not like you could say, 'I'm dying from a demon attack, and I need your ex-boyfriend to turn me into a vampire so I can hunt down the demons and kill them.'"
"It does sound silly when you say it like that." He chuckled. "I'm sure you would have thought I was crazy."
"I am fine, though," she admitted. "I've been through worse. I can handle this."
"Can you?" he asked, worry clearly evident in his eyes. "If the spell didn't work, you won't know it until -"
"Until you try to kill me," Buffy finished for him. "I know. I also know that you would be worse than Angelus and evil Willow combined."
He brushed his free hand across her cheek. "I just want to be certain you fully understand the consequences if things should go wrong."
"Is this all you want to talk about?" She teased. "They gave us some time alone, and you want to talk about whether or not I'll be able to stake you?"
"I really don't want to talk," he said in a low voice that made her shiver. "It is our wedding night after all." He leaned down and kissed her slowly, giving her time to react.
Buffy's mind reeled. She couldn't believe he wanted to do this with Angel waiting just a few feet away. Timidly, she returned his kiss. When his lip left hers to trail wet kisses along her chin and neck, she tried unsuccessfully to bite back a moan. "We can't do this," she whispered. "What if they come back?"
Giles looked up at her briefly, "I'll tell them to leave and come back later. I want some time alone with my wife."

"What do you think they're doing in there?" Angel asked as he paced the length of the hallway.
"Do you really want to know?" Wesley countered, trying to keep a straight face.
Angel stopped and glared at him. "Did you see the way he looked at her? There's only one thing they could be doing."
"Angel, you really shouldn't torture yourself this way," Wesley said as Angel started pacing again.
"Wesley's right," Willow told him. "Besides, you don't want to be around to hear it when - I mean if - if they start -" a noise from behind the bedroom door made her stop.
"Too late," Willow and Wesley said in unison.

Buffy moaned loudly as Giles pushed into her, causing him to laugh. "I thought you didn't want them to hear us."
"Don't care anymore," Buffy mumbled. She gasped as he gently bit her earlobe. "Maybe if we make enough noise, they'll leave us alone."
"Would you like me to make you scream?" he whispered in her ear.

As they heard Buffy's muffled scream, Willow and Wesley ran to put themselves between Angel and the bedroom door. "Angel, you can't go in there," Willow insisted. "I know you feel like you have a special bond with Buffy, but she's married to Giles now. She needs this. If you interrupt, she'll never forgive you."
Angel looked from Willow to Wesley.
"She's right," Wesley agreed. "You'd only be hurting Buffy."
For a moment, Angel looked like he would go right through them to get to Buffy. Instead, he turned and walked down the hall. "Let me know when they're finished."
