Ice

The ice continued to collect on the already sagging limbs and wires outside the house. Looking out, Buffy sighed, this had suppose to have been a perfect Christmas Eve apocalypse thwarted for yet another year, the gang were all safe and accounted for, and Giles had come back to them. Tonight was suppose to be full of good cheer, family and friends. Until the freak ice storm.

Plans changed when it became apparent no one would be able to get to the house, all roads and streets were closed down due to the ice. Dawn was at a sleep over with Kit, Xander had stopped at Anya's to talk things out and well was still there, and Willow had been at the campus researching for a paper.

Leaving her and Giles alone in the house. Admittedly, it was great he was back here in Sunnydale and here with her, but she was greedy and wanted it all. She wrapped her arms around her chest and sighed, placing her head against the cold window.

Giles watched as Buffy leaned against the window pane, her fingers lightly caressing her sides and the extra long sweater hugging her tightly as it covered her thighs. The remaining light casting her in shadows against the brightness of the ice. With his head down, he started towards the window.

Crossing his arms on his chest, Giles leaned against the window casing, looking out at the glimmering ice. Without looking up or saying a word, Buffy turned and placed her downcast head against Giles' upper arm. "Won't be long before we lose power, with ice like this. If there's anything you want to do before then, like perhaps a shower or heating food up, you may wish to do it now." Giles unwrapped his arms and let Buffy's head find his chest as he wrapped a caring hug around his Slayer.

Buffy nodded her head and wrapped her arms around the warmness of her Watcher. "I know. I need to get the flashlights and the candles out, fill the bottles of water, get a fire going in the fireplace..."

"I've already taken care of two on that list, so why don't you let me finish it and you can go relax a little in the shower?" Giles began to stroke her arms as he pulled away to look at her.

Buffy chuckled as she looked up, "Well you have this all figured out don't you? Fine, I'll let you finish. How'd you know what I had to do?"

"England. Incase you forgot, California is not my native soil, and ice is a regular thing in the English winters. So off with you and don't dawdle." Giles released Buffy and gave her a gentle smile as she crossed the room and headed for the stairs. Leaning back against the window casing, he placed his hands in his pockets and tilted his head to watch her ascend the stairs.

The ice continued to build outside and as predicted, the power had gone out a little while ago. Buffy sat in the reclining chair as Giles stretched out on the sofa, both staring at the fire, the only light in the room. Watching Giles as he began to doze off, Buffy realized she had never seen him so relaxed, or maybe content was the word. His large body overhung the couch with one foot resting on the floor as the other laid over the arm, his chin rested on his chest as his arms were folded just below. He looked so peaceful when he was sleeping. But she was bored and it was early yet, even if they didn't have power.

"You know, we have another few hours before it's officially Christmas and I still have some wrapping to do, wanna help? Or you know you can just be lazy and dream of sugar plums dancing in your head....."

Giles broke out in laughter at the thought, still giggling he answered, "What do you have left? Whatever possessed you to wait this long before you finished your wrapping? You wouldn't have been able to even start til after the party if it wasn't for the ice storm." Sitting up, he stretched his arms above his head, and ran a hand through his now tousled hair.

"Last minute shopping, Giles. Just a few things I had ordered that finally came in and other little things I needed for the stockings." Buffy headed for the closet under the stairs, and began pulling out bag after bag. with both hands full of bags, she made it back and set them down in the middle of the room. Looking at the raised eye brow of Giles as he looked from the bags, to her, then back to the bags, he shook his head and smiled.

"Last minute, huh? You waited til yesterday to do all your shopping again this year didn't you?"

"No, not all.....just a vast majority." She admitted with a sly grin and a shrug of her shoulders. "You know I think better under pressure, and a packed store...last full day of shopping before the holiday....what can be better for pressure?"

"So who's didn't you wait til the last moment on?" Giles asked as he began pulling items from the bags and searched for the wrapping paper.

"Under the couch." Giles nodded and reached for the rolls of paper hidden beneath the sofa he now leaned against. "Well, I had a few things for Dawn already, that I had picked up over the summer. But yours was the only one I had."

Giles looked up at that. Of all the things she could have said, that was not what he had expected. 'His??' Blushing, he looked down and began to wrap the small box.

"Don't be so shocked. The others' were easy. You on the other hand, I had to think, but when I saw it, it kinda just clicked, you know what I mean?" Giles nodded as she shrugged once again and began to wrap as well.

As the wrapped packages began to pile up around them, the paper rolls dwindled and their space became overrun with gifts. Standing up to begin moving some of them under the tree, Buffy noticed something and stopped dead in her tracks. "Um Giles...."

"Hmm?" Came his muffled replied. When she didn't continue on, he stopped and looked up at her. "What is it? Something wrong?"

"Please tell me, these are the only two you didn't label." Buffy looked pleadingly at Giles, already knowing the answer.

"I thought you were labeling them as I handed them back to you wrapped? That' s why I repeated back to you who they were to be for. You have the pen and the labels, not me." Tossing the roll of tape into the air, it landed on the pile of paper scraps they had accumulated.

Buffy collapsed onto the couch, shaking her head in disbelief and letting out a moan. "Oh my god, I can't believe we did that!!! We have to unwrap them to figure out who the hell they're for now....Giles!!!" Buffy tossed a bow at his head as he closed his eyes and nodded in frantic disbelieving.

"I know, I know." Dropping his head back to rest on the cushion of the sofa. "OW!!" Giles jerked his head back as he felt the bow that had clung to his hair. "Ha, very funny." Taking the bow off, he tossed it back at Buffy.

Sighing, he let out a deep breath and pushed off the sofa, crawling on his knees the few feet to the fireplace to add another log. "Hopefully you have more paper and tape? Because we are going to need it I think." Rising up to his feet, Giles stretched his aching muscles and headed towards the kitchen, grabbing a flashlight off the table on the way. "Water or wine?" he called back in to Buffy, who was still prone on the sofa.

"Wine. It's Christmas Eve and I'm going to have my party one way or another. Music...we need music to go through this again. Any idea where that little battery radio is Giles? I don't think we've used it since the basement flooded and the power had to be turned off." Sitting up, she watched as Giles made his way to her carrying both their glasses of wine in one hand and the flashlight in the other. Handing her a glass, he sat next to her and set the flashlight down on the table.

Taking a sip of the wine, they smiled and both let out a satisfying sigh. "Well, if I recall, I think it was for some odd reason placed in the liquor cabinet."

"Ok, let me go see. We need some holiday music." Buffy set her glass of wine down, took the flashlight and began her search. "Yep, it's right where you said. Damn, you're good Giles." Buffy turned and blew the dust off the radio before crossing the room again.

A low mumble escaped Giles as he replied to her comment, "better than you even know." Feeling the sofa sink a bit, he handed Buffy back her wine and both took another swallow. "Not bad for two dollar wine is it?" Giles smiled and began to laugh, as Buffy giggled then hiccuped, causing both to go off in giggles all over again. "You know, this cheap stuff gets right to you. Care for some more?" Giles asked as he finished off his glass and headed for the kitchen.

"Sure, why not? I'll go get the rest of the paper so we can wrap this up..." Buffy collapsed in laughter at her unintended pun. Her joyous giggling set Giles off in the kitchen, enough so that he almost tripped coming through the swinging door. Making it to the sofa with the partial bottle of wine as well as a unopened bottle, Giles set the unopened one on the table, then refilled Buffy's glass as well as his own with the partial.

"You know, at this rate, we're never going to get things finished. Where's the paper, I'll get it."

"In the closet, far corner. There's a few rolls, I think we only really need one." Buffy watched as Giles pushed himself up once again, took a second to regain his balance and then headed to the closet.

"Other one. Sorry." Buffy pointed to the stairway closet and giggled as Giles did the same. Fiddling with the radio some more, she managed to find a station playing holiday music, and set it on the end table, turning the volume up enough to be heard but not overbearing.

Giles finally emerged with a roll and another bag. "I think you missed one earlier." He tossed the bag on Buffy's lap and collapsed again alongside her on the sofa. Setting the paper to the floor, he retrieved his wine from the table and leaned back to see what Buffy had in the bag.

Confusion settled on Buffy's face as she reached in the plastic bag. pulling her hand back out slowly, her eyes grew wide as she realized what it was. "Oh my god, Giles!! Guess what's in the bag?" Her excitement bubbling out. Reaching for her glass she took another long sip of the cheap potent wine.

"Um, long lost sweater?" Giles wasn't really paying attention to the bag, but more to her excited eyes highlighted by the light of the fireplace.

"No! even better!! It's perfect for tonight. I thought or sure I lost the bag." Buffy finally revealed the contents to an amused Giles.

"You can't be serious. Buffy....no. Absolutely not. We need to get these rewrapped and labeled." Giles eyes began to widen as he saw Buffy wasn't joking.

"You look a little pale, have another sip of wine. I knew it was a farfetched idea. But at least wear the beard? For a minute?? Please??" Buffy pleaded then gave him the puppy dog eyes look.

Giles finished off the glass and looked at Buffy some more. Then reached for the rest of the bottle, looking at the little amount left, he shook his head and finished it off. Setting it to the side, he reached for the new bottle and opened it. Refilling his glass then looking to Buffy's, he added more to hers. Then drank his down. And refilled it once more. "NO."

Buffy took another swallow and laid her head to his shoulder, looking up at him with those eyes.

"Let me see it." Buffy squealed and dumped the bag onto their laps. Buffy stopped her amused glee when she saw what had made Giles grin slyly.

"Well, well, what do we have here... I'm pretty certain Santa didn't wear this in the stories I read. What stories have you read? Because I'd sure love to read those.." Buffy slapped his arm as he held up the skimpy teddy, made to resemble a Santa suit. Red lace along the edges and a white furry band around the midsection. Giles' eyes roved over the teddy then over Buffy's body. Licking his lips, "Tell you what, I'll wear the beard if you wear this."

"What!? NO! No, no, no....I'm not even certain how that got in there!! I only bought the beard and the hat, OH and the um....boxers." An evil gleam crossed Buffy's face. Wear the beard, boxers and the hat and I'll wear this." Knowing he'd never agree to it, she felt rather safe in making the bet. Finishing off her glass of wine, she gave him a smug look and grinned.

"Ok." Giles gave her a smug look back and had some more wine. "Go change." Handing Buffy the teddy, she took his glass of wine and finished it for him.

"See you in ten." With that she grabbed the flashlight and headed up the stairs.

Looking at the outfit, he chuckled. What had he gotten himself into?

Buffy emerged to find Giles bent over the radio, in a pair of red flannel boxers and a white t shirt. Giving a cat whistle, she sauntered into the room, wearing the red teddy and as an added touch, red pumps. "Figured I'd make it a complete outfit." Leaning against the door frame, she looked 'Santa' up and down. "Nice set of boxers you got there. Tight in all the right places too."

Giles licked his lips and turned up the radio, never taking his eyes off SantaBuffy. " I could say the same about your tight little teddy. Care for a dance, Mrs. Santa?"

"Love to." Giles pulled Buffy's outstretched arm toward him, pressing the lacey teddy up against his flannel boxers.

Just then, 'Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas' by the Pretenders, came on. Holding her close he wrapped his arms tight around her. "You cold? You're shivering." Not waiting for her answer, he moved them closer to the fire, rubbing his hands up and down her back. "I can't believe we're doing this." Giles whispered in her ear.

"Me either." Buffy replied as she pulled him closer and reached up to place a small kiss on his neck. "I love this song. Especially after tonight, because I'm always going to remember this. No matter how much wine we have." They both giggled at that and held each other tighter.

Song after song played. They never let go of one another until.....

"Is this what I think it is? You're going to laugh but um, I love this song." Breaking contact with Buffy, Giles began to bounce around as the fiddles and drum kicked in... then began to sing to a stunned, but laughing, Buffy. Taking her hands, he pulled her along for the ride.

"I saw Momma kissing Santa Claus, Underneath the mistletoe last night." Giles belted out the lyrics alongside John Mellencamp, as Buffy began to laugh hysterically when she realized, that tipsy, border drunk Giles--- was a riot.

"Well she did not see me creep, Down the stairs to have a peep" Pulling Buffy around to face him he sang to her, or rather tried to. She kept trying to break free of his grasp so she could just sit and watch his show.

"She thought that I was tucked up--- in my bedroom fast asleep." Calming down a bit, Giles whirled Buffy around the room and pulled her tight to him as he began to grind against her while he continued the serenade.

"Oh let me tell you that," Getting into the song, Buffy joined in, making the song a duet of sorts.

" I saw Momma tickle..... Santa Claus, Underneath his beard so snowy white" Buffy couldn't resist and played the part, tickling Giles under the chin, getting a giggle from him. Taking the hat from his head, she placed it on herself and gasped when she felt his hands brush against her breast.

Smiling slyly once more, they continued singing. "Oh, what a laugh it would have been, If Daddy would have walked right in and saw Momma kissing Santa Claus last night.... "

Grinding against one another and singing as loudly as they could...neither noticed the front door opening and the Scoobies standing with their mouths hanging open at the sight of the scantily clad Slayer and Watcher in the Santa outfits. Turning around they, ran from the house, slipping and sliding on the ice. Vowing to never enter without knocking again.

As the song faded out and another started, both Buffy and Giles gasped for air, laughing uncontrollably. Finally getting a sense of where they were, Buffy looked up and sure enough, there it was, the mistletoe. Grabbing Giles by the neck, she pulled him into a kiss. Tender, then gradually building to something more, as Giles one again pulled her tight against his now bulging boxers.

After finally ending the most sensual kiss she's ever shared, they rested their heads against one another, regaining their balance. Licking her lips, Buffy whispered into Giles' ear.

"Want to change the tradition of Santa only cumming once a year?" With a wicked grin she brushed her lips against his neck, finally pulling his earlobe into her wet mouth.
