Authors Notes: This came to me while listening to the song of the same name by Eden's Crush. Of course I don't own the group either. I heard this particular song and got inspired. This was written at 2am if it doesn't make sense, sorry.

Buffy and company entered the newly remodeled Caritas. Lorne said that they should drop by the next time they were in town. So they decided to pay him a visit, they were all battle weary and tired from helping Angel fight the latest big bad. Faith decided to kick it, at the club. She approached the bar in search of Lorne, she found him making himself a Sea Breeze. What exactly did he see in that drink? Was beyond her.

"Buffy cakes what brings you here? I thought you were helping tall dark and broody, and bleach boy wonder fight the latest big bad."

She smiled a little, "Battle is over and done. The troops and I decided to take a break, besides being around Angel and Spike is kind of weird."

He gave her a sympathetic smile. He would go crazy too if both of his lovers were working with each other.

"So where is your famous watcher? He didn't come this time?

Buffy sat down on the stool and put her head on her hands. Lorne knew that this was not a good thing.

"He is back in England with Willow. We had a huge argument before I left; I am starting to have second thoughts about us."

Lorne could sense how much they loved each other, but they were both carrying too much baggage. He had a suggestion.

"Buffy baby doll, why don't you get up there and sing? I will be able to read your aura completely. Cause honey you are giving off some serious vibes."

Buffy was about to protest, but thought better of it. She knew that she couldn't win this battle.

"I don't know Lorne, I can't sing in front of all these people. What if I sound horrible?" She pleaded.

He gave her a smile, "Honey I heard you sing before, and baby let me tell you, your voice is just perfect. Choose a song, and let me know when you are ready." He handed her the song list.

She looked along the menu until she came across the perfect song. She gave the signal to Lorne to let her know that she was ready.

"Ladies and demons we have a very special performance by an extraordinary young woman. Please give a round of applause to Buffy Summers."

Buffy walked up on the stage, and he handed her the microphone. She took it nervously.

"Knock them out kid." He exited the stage.

She looked out at the crowd and saw Faith, Kennedy, and Rona looking intently at her. They each gave her a supportive smile. She smiled back, and waited for the first strands of the song started and she began to sing.

Buffy's fright went away once she started singing. She put all of
her feelings into it, the things that she had been hiding behind.
Her love for Angel, her feelings of friendship for Spike. And her
argument with Giles, he didn't want her to come and help. He said
that it was his battle to fight and not hers.

She thought about the good times they shared together and some of the bad. It seems that she had found a way each time to hurt him. And he forgives her, the transgressions every time.

She thought back to when Giles first told her he loved her. It was a moonlit night in LA a week after the collapse of Sunnydale. He told her that he realized how close he was to losing her again, and he didn't want to waste too much time. They laughed, and talked, cried, and shouted. Everything between them was okay, until Arielle the new watcher came into the picture. He was working later and later, and she saw even less of him. Except when she would drop by the compound after a brief training sessions with the new slayers. She had to admit that she was jealous of the tall leggy blonde; she let it cloud her judgment. That is why she is in LA now; she did it out of spite.

She was miserable without him, he was the other half without him,
she was incomplete. It dawned on her that she needed to let go of
all things past and concentrate on the future.

She was so wrapped up in her song, that she didn't even see Giles come in. He was so devastated by the degree of their argument; he wanted to let her know just how sorry he was for the things he said. He made his way over to the bar.

"Lorne where is Buffy? Angel told me she was here."

Lorne didn't say anything he just pointed to the stage. Sure enough that is where he found Buffy, singing her little heart out.

Buffy finished the song and was met with thunderous applause. She didn't think she was all that good, but everyone else did. She gave her thanks and made her way over to the bar. Where Giles had vacated.

"Okay Lorne, lay it on me?"

He got this huge grin on his face.

"Honey, I thought you and Angel cakes were in love. But the love you have for Giles shines brighter than anything I've known. You two are destined for each other, but you let little things get in the way like jealousy and the feelings you used to have for Mr. Likes-to- Brood, and Captain Peroxide. Let it go and your future is not that far away."

He pulled Buffy into a hug and gave her a kiss on top of the head.

"And speaking of future, here he comes now." Lorne took that as his queue to leave.

Buffy turned around and came face to face with Giles.

"Giles. What are you doing here? I thought you were helping Willow with something." She gave him a questionable look.

"Hello Buffy, I couldn't let things stay the way they were. I shouldn't have let my jealousy get in the way of you helping a fellow warrior save the world. I'm sorry for neglecting you like I did. Could you ever forgive me?"

"You had me at hello. I love you watcher-mine." She gave him a hug and a kiss on the lips.

"I love you too my darling girl. Let's get out of here and make up properly."

Buffy put her hand in his, and walked out of Caritas a whole lot lighter.
