Authors Notes: Absolutely no Dawn. I love her, but she doesn't fit
in the story. This is just a rough draft; I wanted to put the
general idea of the story out there.
Buffy Summers entered Summers Enterprise with a purpose, her father was supposed to pick up DeAnyale for their weekly dinner and a movie. Ever since Angel died Hank has been a constant in her life. She had aunts and uncles galore, but it was something about grandpa. When he didn't show up Danni had been so disappointed he never cancelled. This just added fuel to Buffy's fire she breezed passed his secretary, no time for pleasantries.
Inside his office Hank was meeting with his new partner when his door burst open. In walked a furious Buffy, she didn't even speak he knew she was pissed. 'Why didn't you come and pick up Danni Saturday like you planned?' she hollered out. Her hands on her hips with a glare that reminded him of Joyce. She has died of a brain tumor when Buffy was 16 it had been a trying time for the both of them. He became very protective of his little girl she was after all the last connection to his wife. Rupert Giles sat there confused with a lot of questions going through his head 'Who is this young woman fussing at him? Who is Danni? His soon or daughter?' He never alluded to anything that he had a girlfriend; he knew he had a daughter that was it. He just sat there intrigued by the feisty blonde that came into the office.
Hank turned to face Buffy, 'I had a business meeting that went over longer than I thought', he tried to explain. Buffy glared ten fold 'A meeting that is more important than your granddaughter? You know how she loves the time you spend together.' Buffy said wistfully. Rupert finally got the answer to his questions this is his daughter Buffy, Danni was her daughter. Hank tried to diffuse the situation and tried to calm her down, 'Buffy we will discuss this later over dinner, but my newest partner is here and we were kind of in a meeting.' He pointed to the chair be hind her, Buffy slowly turned around and came face to face with the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. He looks so damn delectable in his suit. Hank brought her out of her thoughts, 'Rupert Giles this is my daughter Buffy Summers, Buffy this is Rupert Giles my newest partner.' He stood up and held out his hand; she shook his hand embarrassed by her outburst, 'Sorry about that I didn't know daddy had anyone in here.' He smiled, 'Quite alright dear heart all is forgotten.' She blushed profusely, 'Well I should let you two get back to it, nice meeting you Rupert.' She smiled a little smile, he smiled back, 'The pleasure was all mine' he grinned back. Hank was looking at this exchange and saw that they were smitten with each other he was having his reservations about that. Buffy was his little girl; regardless of how old she is.
Buffy turned to her father, 'I will see you tonight for dinner at 7 right?' Hank blushed a little, 'Yes sweetheart I will be there with bells on' he gave her a kiss on the cheek and she left. First thing that ran through Buffy's mind was 'Who is that guy?' she walked off. Rupert was thinking the same thing 'Why am I so drawn to this woman and I just met her?' Hank was rattling on about something, but he was too caught up in Buffy.
