"Ok, all set" Buffy told Willow as the Slayer hung up the phone then turned to her best friend. Willow smiled with enthusiasm at Buffy.
"This is going to be so romantic"
"We'll see, Will"
"Oh come on. Look at all the trouble you're going through"
"Yeah, let's just hope I don't make a fool out of myself"
"You wont, I know Giles love's you too"
"Yeah, I know he loves me. It's the *in* love with me part, I'm wondering about"
"I guess we'll find out tonight, huh?"
"Yup. Then I'll either owe you a new spell book, or you'll be supplying me with Ben and Jerry's till we're 90"
Willow giggled as she smiled at Buffy.
"And I'll expect that book to be from Giles' *personal* collection"
"What?! You didn't say that before"
"I did so! You just weren't listening. Beside, what are you worried about, this is going to work"
"You sure you can pull this off tonight?"
"Hey, a little rain and some lighting, not a big deal. Heck I could even do thunder and hail if you want?"
"Sometimes you scare me"
The girls laughed as Buffy hugged her best friend.
"Just rain and power outage. Thanks"
"You got it"
As they pulled apart, they heard Giles in the living room, telling Dawn to hurry up or she would be late for school.
"Are you nervous?" Will asked Buffy
"Totally. But, I have to know" Buffy told her softly. "I love him so much Will. I can't stop thinking about him"
"I know, I see all the looks you steal at him when he isn't looking"
Buffy looked horrified for a moment.
"You don't think he caught me looking, do you?"
"Nah. Giles is pretty clueless when it comes to you"
Giggling, Buffy suddenly felt sad as she sat down on the bar stool next her.
"Buffy?"
"I've hurt him so much over the years, Willow. Am I being selfish for wanting to do this?"
"What? No. Buffy, Giles..." Willow took a seat next to her on the other stool, turning to look over her shoulder then turned back to Buffy, her voice low. "Giles loves you , Buffy. Trust me on this. I know"
"How?"
Willow watched Buffy for a moment then sighed.
"Before you asked him back, he was going to move home. To England."
"What?!"
"Yeah, he thought you didn't need him anymore. He thought that maybe, since you had Reilly, you wouldn't want him around anymore"
"Oh god. How much do I suck?" Buffy whined as she laid her face in her hands.
"But he didn't leave, Buffy. Don't you get it? Before he could tell you he was all packed and his ticket booked, you asked him to stay. And he did. Without a second thought. Because he loves you. He's in love with you. Just look at how he acts around you, Buffy. The small touches, the way he's always opening doors for you, making your meals, helping you train and study. The light in his eyes when he sees you walk through the door after not seeing you all day. How he waits up for you at night , endless hours at a time, not wanting to sleep till you come home, safely to him after patrol...."
Tears stung Buffy's eyes as she listened to her friend. Willow was right, Giles sacrificed everything for her. Lifting her head, Buffy looked at her friend.
"I don't deserve him"
"*Yes* you do. You guys were destined for one another, Buffy. Anyone can see it"
"I don't want to hurt him anymore, Will. He deserves to be loved so much"
"Then love him, Buffy. Show him how much he's appreciated and cared for"
