(Graveyard – Night - Sunnydale)

He watched her through the shadows.

Her body was long, slim and graceful as she moved through several fighting techniques seamlessly. Giles had only taught her several of the new moves merely weeks before tonight, and now she was flowing from one to another, effortlessly.

Pride filled his heart.

He couldn’t believe how well she was adapting to becoming the chosen one after Buffy's death… Giles cringed. Every time he said those words, thought them even, it made it so final.

So real.

He still had a hard time excepting her passing.

Giles stopped circling Faith as his heart physically clenched in his chest. Flashes of Buffy falling to her death, went off before his eyes as he swallowed hard. Even after all this time, whenever he thought about her and the sacrifice she made for them all, it tore at his heart.

Physically making him ill that he was still there while she was not.

Sighing, Giles continued moving along the outer perimeter, watching the new Slayer. Studying her. Figuring out her vulnerabilities and blind spots as he shoved the flashes of Buffy, falling to her death out of his mind.

Faith was his responsibility now. She had come to him from LA. Having been working with Wesley all ready, she heard about Buffy and offered to come train with Giles.

To be the new Slayer on the hellmouth.

Giles didn’t want to accept her offer at first, but after great thought and several sleepless nights, he did.

Realizing that training Faith would be a great distraction from his grief for Buffy, Giles took the once rogue slayer to England. Spending nearly a year and a half with her in London  at the Watcher’s council. Then several months after that,  at his home in Bath.

Teaching her, training her, being there for her in any way she needed him, before returning with her to Sunnydale a few short months ago.

Through it all, Faith came full circle. Acting as a true slayer should. She listened to him, trained when he asked, and was everything any watcher could have hoped for. Had his heart not belonged to Buffy, Giles was sure, in time, It would have belonged to Faith.

(Eight Months later – Sunnydale – Magic Box – Training Room)

He kissed her thoroughly.

Running his tongue along hers in lazy, familiar, deep strokes. His hands cupping her breasts, kneading them as she reached for his shirt an ripped it open, sending buttons flying in every direction. Their moans slipped into each others mouths as Giles laid his slayer down on the training mat.

His large maculate body, covering her smaller, tantalizing one.

“Now Giles”

“Soon. First-“

“No. No tenderness, no loving, just… take me”

He understood her reason for them coupling like this. Both needing so desperately to fill the whole in their hearts, left by another. An at first it was all right with him. Both wanting, needing the closeness of each other, but without all the strings attached.

However, lately, he began feeling for her more than he ever thought possibly. And while he knew he could never love her, or anyone, as he had Buffy; Giles could feel himself allowing Faith into his heart, more and more with each passing day.

Which left him with many conflicting emotions.

The whole that was left in his life by the death of his slayer, was unlike anything he ever faced before. For so long after her death, he would just sit at her grave, begging her to come back to him.

Or for something to take his life so he could be with her.

Willow and Xander often had to take shifts, watching him, making sure he didn’t do anything stupid to harm himself in first few weeks of her passing. They even took turns making sure he was eating and sleeping properly, because at night, when he wasn’t at the graveyard, he would be in their bed, crying silently for her.

Totally unaware of his surrounding or his own needs.

It took weeks for Willow to finally get through to Giles. Telling him that Buffy wouldn’t want things like this, that she wouldn’t want him doing this to himself, or giving up on life as he had. That he needed to get better if not for himself, then for Dawn.

Because she needed him.

They all did.

It took some time, but Giles came around. He started helping around the shop again, taking Dawn to school and other functions she needed to tend to. Things, after a while, were back normal.

Or as normal as they could be on the hell mouth…

“Giles” Faith laid her hands to his face.

“Sorry”

“It’s ok. Where were you?”

When he didn’t answer her, she knew. She took him into her arms, drawing him closer, and hugged him.

“I wish there was something I could do for you”

“You have” He mumbled against her bare shoulder then laid a kiss there.

“You have for me too”

“I know” He pushed himself up a little to look down at her. “I’m sorry about Wesley. I know today’s your-“

Faith laid a finger to his lips, stopping him from saying it.

“Sorry Luv” His whisper tickled her finger as she smiled at him.

“Hey, I’m five by five G. You’re the one having the nightmares an daydreams still- and that was really stupid, I’m sorry…”

Giles was staring at her shoulder, unable to say anything as Faith framed his face in her hands.

“Really, I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking”

“No worries” He told her softly. Faith smiled sadly, knowing she goofed but he would never say it.

“Let’s just concentrate on us ok? Try and forget about me stuffing my foot in my mouth?”

Smiling at her, Giles nodded then kissed her again as he made love to Faith till they both exhausted themselves and drifted off to sleep.

(Three months later – Magic Box)

Giles noticed Willow, Tara, Anya and Xander were all acting rather strangely these past few days. He thought it was because the anniversary of Buffy’s death was today. She’d been gone for almost 3 years now and it still made him incredibly sad and depressed  when he thought about all she gave up for this world...Watching her jump to her death to save them all, with nothing for him to do to save her….  Giles closed his eyes and shook his head. Trying to get the imagine that was always burned in front of him, of Buffy falling so gracefully to her death, out of his mind.

When he opened his eyes again, he found Faith in front of him. She was standing between his legs as he sat at the research table. A worried look was on her face as he smiled at her.

“Morning”

“Morning to you to big guy” She was grinning now as she saw his eyes light up at seeing her, He laid his hands to her hips and pulled to his lap. Faith straddled him as Anya and Xander, who were behind the counter, tried their best not to pay attention to Giles and Faith. Willow and Tara, who were helping Anya and Xander, looked at each other then the gang as Willow whispered….

“Tonight’s the night”

“What? Why? Tonight? Are you sure?” Xander asked nervously as Anya held his hand.

“Yeah, everything’s in line tonight. I told you I couldn’t do it till I found everything I needed . Well now I have it and the full moon will be lined with-“

“Hi Guys”

Willow went quiet as Dawn entered the magic box.

‘Hi Dawn’ everyone said in union as Faith and Giles stopped their kiss to look over at them.

“What’s going on?” Dawnie asked as they all looked at each then saw Giles and Faith watching them.

“Uh, nothing” Xander said shifty. Giles looked at him and Xander knew he was in trouble if he didn’t get out of there. “An and I were just wondering if Will and Tara wanted to join us for a movie tonight”

“Oh, really? Cool, can I come ?”

Willow looked at Xander , giving him the evil eye as Faith started to kiss Giles neck.

“Uh, well actually, it’s kinda a um, well grown up movie”

“Porn? We’re going to see porn? “Anya asked with excitement as Xander glared at her.

“An!”

“Ewww, your going to see porn?!” Dawn said as Giles Cleared his throat.

“Perhaps you can stay with Marcy tonight dawn? Seeing as the others have something else planned?”

Faith, who was kissing behind Giles ear, laughed as she heard him trying to remain calm at the gang’s topic of conversation in front of Dawn. Even though Dawn was a junior in school now, Giles still acted as if she was the young girl he met so many years ago.

“I like your restraint” Faith whispered in Giles ear, then stuck her tongue out and licked his lobe, pulling it into her mouth and sucking on it. Her tongue swirled around the gold hoop he was wearing “But …let’s see what it takes for you to loose it”

Giles held his moan in, not wanting the children to look over. Thankfully, they were all ignoring what Faith was doing to him as Xander continued talking with Dawn.

“Hey, yeah. How about that Dawnie? I’ll even take ya to the store so you two can get some snacks for a little sugar in dosed coma, then I can drop you off at Marcy’s”

“Can we stop for a movie?”

“Blockbuster?”

“Yup”

“You got it”

“Cool! I’ll go call Marcy” Dawn walked off with a smile, walking past Giles and Faith to the training room to use the phone. Giles sure has changed sense Faith got here, Dawnie thought. Not that *this* Giles was bad, just…different.

As Dawn walked by Faith and Giles, she told them with a frown.

“Geez, cant you guys get a room?“

Faith giggled as Dawn continued on to the training area. Giles let a small groan escape him as he grabbed his slayer and pulled her away. The gang was still in their own little world, talking quietly as Giles framed the slayers face in his hands.

“The restraint you think I have? You’re very close to breaking it”

Faith grinned with pride.

“Yeah?”

“Most defiantly” His thumb slide from her cheek to run over her lips as Faith subtlety rubbed herself against his groin then opened her mouth to take his thumb in. Sucking it as her tongue swirled around it.

Giles swallowed as she pulled her head back and released his thumb, asking him seductively…

“And just what would it take for you to loose it completely?”

He was searching her eyes, wondering what she had in mind, before he looked over her shoulder briefly an saw the gang was still deep into their own thing. Looking back at Faith, Giles held her eyes as she watched him, wondering what he was thinking. Before she could ask him, she felt his hand slip between her legs. Faith’s leather skirt slid up a little further on her thighs as Giles ran his middle finger along her lips.

He nearly laughed out loud at the shocked look on Faith’s face. It took a lot to surprise the rogue slayer, and by the look she was giving him now, he did it.

Faith closed her mouth after letting her jaw drop open at his actions. She really didn’t except him to do anything, especially something so bold, But she was pleasantly surprised he did.

Faith could tell sense they began their relationship, every day a little more of Ripper would show himself. An that was what Faith hoped for. For him to let loose and live his life. He’d been under restrictions sense he was 10 years old, it was time Giles made his own rules to live by.

Sliding her fingers through his hair, she smiled wickedly at him.

It made her proud to know Giles as she did now. He was so strong, commanding and protective. But when need be, and he always seemed to know when they needed him, he was still the gentle man who listened to them. Who let them lean on his broad shoulders for a good cry, and still took care of them as best as he knew how.

Faith’s thoughts stopped cold as she gasped. Giles finger entered her, teasing her thoroughly.

Kissing her, Giles kept Faiths moan to themselves as she was silenced with his mouth. He was smiling against her lips as Faith rubbed against his hand, silently asking him to keep going. She snaked her tongue out and ran it along his, mimicking the stroking of their tongues with his finger as Giles flicked her clit with his thumb, sending a jolt of pleasure through her body.

Luckily, Giles and Faith were on the other side of the table, with Faith’s back to the gang, while piles of books covered the surface of the long oak. The corner where they sat was darken enough so no one could see what his hand was doing to her as she came closer to climaxing.

“You look a little…hot” Giles told her in a teasing whisper against her ear, as he applied just the right amount of pressure to make Faith go over the edge. She kissed him roughly to keep her growl from being heard by the others as her hands tangled in his hair, almost painfully, as she held him to her.

Dawn opened the door from the training room and walked to the gang without even glancing at Giles or Faith in the corner.

“Ok it’s all set! Xander lets go. I wanna get there before they rent out all the copies of brad Pitt’s new movie“

“Oh man, a chick flick?”

“Hey! There’s nothing wrong with a-“

As they continued to argue playfully, it sank into Giles’ head that Dawn was back and getting ready to leave. Easing faith from his lips, Giles smiled at her devilishly.

“Hold that thought”

Returning his grin, Faith Slid off his lap and headed into the bathroom to clean up.

“Dawn?” Giles Stood after walking to the sink next to the table and washed his hands. He dried them with his handkerchief then started to walk towards them.

“Yeah?”

“Do you need any money?” Giles was all ready taking his wallet out as Xander and the others grabbed their coats.

“Yeah, sure. If you have some extra”

“Of course” he smiled, then handed her a $20

Xander rubbed his hands together greedily then held his hand out.

“All right G. Way to play dad. I’ll take a $50”

Xander forgot how deadly the watchers glare was.

Till now.

“Uh, you know, on second thought, it’s cool. I-I’m cool”

Dawn hugged Giles trying to hold her laughter in as Every one headed to the door to grab their coats.

“If you need anything-“

“I know, Giles. You’re a call away”

He smiled one more time then kissed the top of her head.

“Be good”

“Yeah right” She joked as they all left him standing there, alone.

Like always.

Faith saw Giles’ slumped shoulders as he stared out the window, watching the Scooby’s walking off.  She came in from the training room and leaned against the door frame, flicking the lights off in the shop to draw Giles attention to her. It worked. He turned to look behind him and saw her standing there.

Her shirt now see through thanks to the lights in the training room being on as it highlighted her from behind.

He could see she unbuttoned her shirt so it was loosely hanging open. A silent invitation he knew all too well…

“No need to feel lonely anymore Giles. I’ll always be here for you”

He was grinning as he walked to her and removed his shirt.

“And I you”

**

After dropping Dawn off at Marcy’s, Xander took, Willow, Tara, and Anya to Buffy’s grave.   They set everything up for the ritual to bring their friend back as Tara asked..

“Will, you really think we can do this?” Xander asked her while watching her mix something in a large bowel in front of them.

“Pretty sure”

“Pretty sure?!”

“Mostly sure”

“Will!”

“What?! It’s not like I’ve done this before. As long as nothing interrupts us, it’ll all be ok”

(Training Room)

“Faaaaaiiithhh” Giles cried out in pleasure as he came, then slumped down on her sweaty body when he couldn’t hold himself up anymore.

Faith was smiling as he rested his cheek on her breast.

“You ok?”

“More than ok” He mumbled then sighed contently. Faith laughed as she ran her hand up and down his back. Her fingers trailing his spine..

“You sound sleepy?”

“You bloody well wore me out love”

Smiling wickedly, Faith wiggled against him. He began to harder once again inside her as he growled deep in his throat.

“Vixen”

”Thank you. Now let’s see if Joyce really knew what she was talking about”

“What?”

Giles felt Faith flip him on his back as she straddled him.

“She told B, you were a Steveadore”

Giles eyes widen.

“She talked about us?”

Faith grabbed him, running her hand up and down his hardening shaft as she lifted her hips and sank down on him.

“There was talk”

Giles hissed as she started ridding him.

“Good lord, Faith” Giles panted. “Your going to be the death of me”

“But what a way to go” She teased as she leaned down to kiss him forcefully..

**

Willow and the others sat quietly. She performed the ritual an everything seemed to have gone well.

Now, it was waiting time.

“How much longer?” Anya asked impatiently.

“I don’t know Anya, for the 100th time, I have NEVER done this before”

“How we gonna know if it worked? I mean, shouldn’t we, you know…dig her up?” Xander wondered as the girls made an *Ewww* face.  “What?! It’s a logical question!”

“Yeah, if your from a Friday the 13th movie” Anya told him as Xander thought about it.

“Actually, it would be the other way around. Cause usually Jason would be putting you *in* the ground not-“

“Xander has a point-“

“Thanks Will”

“Not that point. The other point”

“Oh, huh?”

“The first point. Your right”

“Well, yeah…wait, you mean about Jason?”

“No! Buffy”

“Buffy wouldn’t dig people-“

“Xander!  I meant about not having Buffy waking up in her own coffin”

“Oh, right that point. But, the other point still stands-”

”Xander, pay attention!”

“I’m trying! You think it’s easy trying to follow a conversation with all you woman!”

“Excuse me?” Anya said as she slapped his arm.

“Ow, Hey!”

“Guys, stop! Now, what are we gonna do about, you know, digging her up?” Willow snapped at them.

“I think we should” Tara answered softly. “She- no one should have to wake up like that”

“Yeah, think about the therapy bill she’ll be paying if she does” Xander said as his girlfriend looked down at the dirt covering Buffy’s coffin.

“Fine. But, I’m not helping. Or opening the coffin”

“She’s such a team player, ain’t she?” Xander joked as Anya hit him again.

**

When Faith finally woke, she found Giles standing with his shirt unbutton, hanging loosely from his shoulders, while his jeans were on but also not button. He was staring at Buffy’s stake on the wall next to all the knives and swords they use to use in training.

Faith got up quietly, pulling one of his extra shirts on that he left on the couch in the training room. She knew he was missing Buffy. Today was the third anniversary of her death.

Giles didn’t hear Faith behind him, until she wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him. Her cheek went to his shoulder, resting her head there as one of her hands lazily ran up and down his chest. Her fingers brushing his nipple every time she moved.

“You ok?”

Sighing, Giles closed his eyes.

“It’s been three years… Lord, only three years…   It feels like an eternity without her”

“I know, Giles”

“I shouldn’t be this emotional…”

“Yeah, you should. B was the love of your life. Just like Wesley was mine. You know, I really believe that if you and I hadn’t found our way to one another, I don’t think we could have made it through this… ” Faith’s voice softened as she squeezed him and placed a kiss to his shoulder. It was rare she let her guard down to show how loving and gentle she could be if she wanted.

But with Giles, it was easy for her because he was so tender and open with his motives an emotions. When Wesley told her he couldn’t see her anymore, that her going to England to be Giles’ slayer was to much on him… it broke her heart.  Wes was one of the very few she trusted and allowed herself to care for. Leaving him to become the Slayer, to save the world, was the hardest choice she ever had to make.

“Thank you for being here for me Giles. When so many wouldn’t and didn’t want to be…”

Turning in her arms, Giles took her face between his hands.

“That goes two ways Faith. All though I know as well as you, that I could never love you in the way I love Buffy, nor could you love me in the way you love Wesley…it doesn’t mean we don’t care for each other. Or that we won’t be there for one another, because we do and we will. An, all though this may seem wrong to many, it fits for us. The none commitment doesn’t work for a lot of people , but it seems to be for you and me. And that’s all that matters”

She was grinning at him as he stroked her cheeks with his thumbs. Faith knew she could trust him with anything, especially her heart.

“Let’s go home. I’m kinda tired and I think a bath is calling our name” She teased as she slid her hand inside his jeans and grabbed his shaft. Giles growled as she moved her hand up and down the length of him, then abruptly stopped and grabbed her pants off the ground.

“That was bloody cruel”

She saw the dangerous glint in his eyes as he started to approach her .

“I don’t know what your talking about” Faith told him innocently as she pulled her jeans on then let out a small scream as Giles chased her out of the room towards the front room of the magic box.

***

Willow, Xander and Anya sat around the coffin that was now uncovered with dirt. Tara stood to the side ready to open the latch to it as Xander stopped her.

“Wait!”

“What?” Tara asked nervously as Willow looked at Xander.

“Shouldn’t we wait till we hear her knock?”

“Uh…” Tara looked at Willow , who looked at Tara , who looked at Anya who told them all…“ Don’t look at me , I told you! I was not opening the coffin”

“I don’t know, I mean , could you stomach what ever we might see?” Willow asked.

“Oh man, I hate it when you say stuff like that” Xander told her as he stood up. “Let’s wait”

“But Xander, we didn’t want her waking up in-“ Willow was interrupted when they heard something moving in the coffin.
