(Kitchen _Summers Home)

"Giles! Get down!"

"If I get any lower, I’ll be under the kitchen floor Willow!"

"Hush!"

Giles rolled his eyes at the red head as he waited quietly, listening for Buffy to enter the home.

" Are you certain it was-"

"Shhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!"

Raising his eye brawl to her, Giles looked at the witch for cutting him off.

"Shhhhh me again young lady and-"

Slapping her hand over his mouth, Willow smiled brightly as Buffy entered the kitchen and took a seat on the bar stool.

"Hey Will"

"Hi Buffy!"

Giles noted how tiered his slayer sounded as he pulled Willows hand from his mouth.

"I hate the holidays! I just wanna grab something to eat and go upstairs to bed"

She whined as she laid her head down on her forearms on the counter.

"But, Buffy-"

"Those people! Argh!"

"What people?" Willow asked as Buffy lifted her head.

"The holiday shoppers! Miss, where can I find this? Miss where can I find that? I swear some of those people -"

"Um, Buffy? Not to interrupt but, I kinda had a party planned sense it was Christmas Eve and all-"

"Oh god, no Willow. Please, it’s late and I am in no way-"

"But I had this-"

Willow felt Giles tug on her hand. When she looked down at him, he shook his head no. Sighing, Willow smiled sadly.

"Ok. Why don’t you go have a shower and when your done I'll bring you something to eat?"

"Thanks Will. You’re a life saver"

Heading upstairs, Buffy grabbed her towel out of the hallway closet and slipped into a nice warm bath.

(Back downstairs)

Giles stood as Willow looked at him with sad eyes.

"I'm sorry Giles. I wanted to make this special for you and Buffy"

"It will be willow" Giles answered her with a smile.

"So....Whatcha thinking?"

“That my slayer's been working to damn hard and it was about time her watcher was back to take care of her"

Willow flashed him the biggest smile he had ever seen from her.

"Care to help me?"

"You know it" She grinned brightly.

"Thank you. All right, here’s the plan"

(Upstairs-Bathroom)

Buffy was soaking in the tube, trying to get rid of the images invading her peaceful place. Taking the part time job at the mall was the best way she thought she could earn some extra cash for Christmas. Dawnie deserved a good, no, great Christmas morning and Buffy was going to make sure she had it. Even if it meant she slayed a few innocent shoppers.

Sighing, she sank lower into the water as her eyes drifted shut. Thoughts of Giles entered her mind as she traced the ring he sent her for her birthday. She missed him so much. Especially on the holidays. Christmas was tomorrow and he still hadn’t called. She thought he was just busy with his new life and if he doesn’t call by morning then she would worry about him.

Even though they had been talking the whole time he was gone, she wasn’t sure when he told her that he missed her, that, well, he did really miss her. Because if he truly missed her as much as she missed him, then how could he stand his heart aching so badly as hers did?

(Kitchen)

As Giles laid the dirty pan in the sink, he turned to Buffy's tray and placed the red rose he picked from out back, on it.

"She's going to love this Giles"

"I hope so"

She could hear the nervousness’ in his tone.

"It’s ok"

Willow whispered as she touched his hand.

"What’s the worst thing she could do?"

Giles raised his eye brawl to her.

"Right, besides snap you in half with her pinky"

"Really not helping, Willow"

"Sorry"

Taking a deep breath, Giles grabbed Buffy's tray and headed to the stairs. When he reached them, Dawn, Xander and Anya entered the home from the front door. Dawn shrieked Giles’ name as she threw her arms around him, causing him to almost drop Buffy’s food.

"Giles!"

"Ah, hello"

He was still trying to balance the tray as Willow grabbed it and held it for him. He smiled his thanks as he hug Dawnie back with both his arms. Anya was smiling and couldn’t wait any longer. As Dawn asked what he was doing back in Sunnydale, Anya jumped on him, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist as Dawnie whined for her to get off of them. Xander thought sense everyone was doing it he would to and hugged Giles along with Anya and Dawnie.

The watcher was smiling at their affection as Willow giggled.

"I think they missed you" she said through another giggle as Anya kissed his cheek and told him in no uncertain terms that should he even think about leaving them again, there would be serious reprocutions.

Laughing, Giles told everyone he had missed them too as Buffy called from her bathroom to them.

"Hey Will?"

"Oh, no. Giles, Hide!"

He looked at her as though she had lost her mind. He was covered from head to toe in Scooby’s.

"Will???"

"Yeah?"

"What’s all the noise down there?"

"Oh-Uh..."

"Buffy, Gi -"

Giles' eyes went wide as he managed to get a hand free and cover Dawnie mouth.

"Shhh"

She, along with the others, except Willow, looked at him strangely. They let go of him as he nodded to willow to answer.

"It's just the party Buffy"

Groaning she let out a sigh. She thought Willow said she would cancel that.

(Back downstairs)

Willow looked at Giles as he put one finger to his lips and let dawn go.

"Why don’t you want Buffy to know your here?" Dawnie asked in a whispered voice.

"It's a surprise"

"Awww. Your not here for the shop are you?" Anya asked as Giles looked at her.

"I was wondering how long till you asked me that"

"Hey G? You’re staying through Christmas right? I mean, we'll get to visit with you too?"

Giles smiled at the young man.

"If Buffy takes what I have to give her, I think I might be here permanently"

"What are you giving her?" Anya asked as willow smiled. She all ready knew his answer.

"Me"

(Buffy's Bathroom)

As Buffy laid in bed, a light sleep over took her.

Giles entered the room and saw her laying down, looking so incredibly beautiful and at peace. He laid the tray next to her bed quietly then slipped his hands into his pockets as he watched her sleep. A gentle grin tugging at his lips.

He had missed her so much, He didn’t know how he made it all these months back home. Away from her. From here. This was his life now, he knew it and so did she. Her calls to him had been coming more regular now. Almost nightly. And over the last several months, their chats often went well into the next morning.

On her birthday she had even called him before he could call her. She stayed with him on the phone, laughing, telling him about all the things that were going on, well into the next morning. They had really reconnected with one another. And being away from her as he was getting to be too much for him.

So when Willow called him a few days ago with this surprise, he was more than happy to make it happen. In all honesty, the only thing he wanted for Christmas this year and every year to come was to see his slayer and hold her in his arms.

"Giles?"

He was so wrapped up in his thoughts, Giles hadn’t noticed she woke up and was staring up at him.

"Merry Christmas Buffy"

She thought his smile was radiant as she locked her eyes with his.

"Am I dreaming?"

"No"

He lowered his tone as she sat up and reached out with her left hand to touch his arm.

"You feel real"

"I am real" He said with a smile as he sat down next to her.

"Why, how, what are you doing here?"

"Which one would you like me to answer first?"

"Either, any, all, Hi"

She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him tight.

"Hi yourself" he chuckled and held her tight. She was squeezing him a little too tight but he was enjoying the hug far too much to tell her he was having trouble breathing.

"God I missed you" she breathed in a happy sigh.

"I missed you as well"

His hands moved along her back, soothing her till she relaxed some in his hold. Giles took a much needed deep breath.

"You ok?"

"Perfect"

"Yeah, you are" she mumbled, hugging him closer to her.

Smiling, Giles turned his head slightly and laid a kiss to the top of her head.

"It feels wonderful to finally hold you" Giles whispered softly.

"Yeah"

Was she crying?

"Buffy?"

"What?"

"Dear lord"

He pulled her arms from him and saw tears slipping down her cheeks.

"What is it? What’s wrong?"

He was wiping away the fallen tears with his thumbs as his hands cupped her face.

"Nothing. I just, I missed you so much and I'm so happy you came home"

She watched the grin return to his lips.

"So am I. However, you did say if things should happen to come together and you were lucky enough to get a second chance at making something out of our relationship, then you would welcome it with open arms"

"I don’t think I said that, and especial with all those words"

He laughed at her as she smiled.

"No, your right. Yours were more colorful"

"Are you going to kiss me?"

He was a little taken back by her forwardness.

"Don’t have a stoke Giles. I know all this is new to you. And, well me too. But, I really want to kiss you"

When he arrived earlier that day, the least he hoped for was a hug from her, and now she wanted a kiss? Giles' heart picked up its pace as he watched Buffy's lips getting closer to his. When her mouth was hovering over his own, still not touching him, she whispered...

"Meet me half way?"

"I think this is more than half"

Sighing, Buffy started to lean back as Giles caught her and brought her mouth to his. The kiss was gentle, tender and exploring. But soon became aggressive as he pulled her into his lap and deeper the kiss.

Several moments later, both pulled back with their foreheads resting against the other.

"Ok, wow"

"Indeed"

Giles mumbled, trying to catch his breath as he kissed her lightly again.

"I can’t believe my wish came true"

"What wish?"

"The one I made on my birthday. For you to come back to me"

Giles pulled back to look at her.

"You wished for that?"

"Of course"

"When you could have wished for anything, you picked me?"

"You are my *everything* what more could I want?”

Smiling, Giles heart swelled with love as he gently pushed Buffy back and lay on top of her. Kissing the smile from her lips, till she was moaning his name and begging for him to touch her.

"I wish the gang wasn’t here. Ok, that sounded really harsh"

"I think this is your night for wishes"

"Huh?"

"They went to Xander's for the night, thanks to Willow"

"They did?"

"Afraid so"

Flipping him, Buffy straddled her watcher.

"So...we're all alone?"

"Till 6am. Dawn has made it clear that at that time she will be returning here to rip open her gifts"

Laughing, Buffy leaned into Giles and took him into a passion filled kiss. As it grew out of control, buttons flew off shirts; cloths were being pulled and ripped away as the front door slammed shut. The watcher and his slayer froze as Spike called out to anyone in the house.

"Bloody hell"

"So much for an empty house"

Buffy sighed. Closing his eyes, Giles went quite.

"Um, Giles? What are you doing?"

"Making a wish"

"What? Why?"

"To get rid of Spike. Seemed to be working for you"

"Good point let me try"

Closing her eyes, Buffy, made her wish.

"'ello? Anyone home? Hey? Slayer?"

Buffy and Giles looked at each other.

"So much for-"

"Argh! Shoo! Go away!"

"Who’s he talking to?"

Buffy asked as Giles smiled when he heard the door slam shut and sharp bark followed.

"That would your guard dog"

"My what?"

"I got you a puppy for Christmas. Apparently he found his way out of the kitchen"

"You got me a dog?"

"I did"

She started to get up and go see what kind he got her as Giles pulled her back on top of him.

"Where you going?"

"To see what my hero looks like!"

Giles smiled and let her go.

"Right then"

He waited for her to move as she folded her arms over his chest and watched him.

"Is someone jealous?"

"Not at all"

"Uh huh"

"Really, I'm not"

"Why is it I don’t believe you?"

"I don’t know"

He answered with a low voice.

His eyes looking sad.

"Sheesh Buddy. You’re lucky I know you so well Or I’d really feel bad for teasing you like that"

Laughing Giles tangled his fingers into her hair and pulled to him for a kiss.

"Let’s go see your hero"

"Yeah, lets"

Ripping the button off his pants, Buffy smiled as she ravished her watcher, her true hero, all night long.
