Part Seven

(Magic Box)

Giles led Wesley to the table and sat him down. "Listen to me Wesley. You won't be any help to Faith if you go off half cocked, do you understand me?"

"Yes," he answered weakly. "I just, it's I can't lose her Giles. I love her. I love Faith more than anything. She's my whole world. I would die for her!"

"I know you would Wesley, as I would for Buffy."

"Slayers," Wesley grinned.

"Yes, gotta love them, no?"

Wes chuckled as Faith said; "You could say the same about Watchers too."

"Faith?" Wesley went to her and grabbed her in his arms. He squeezed her tightly as Cordy went to Giles.

"What's going on?"

"It's pleasure to see you too Cordelia."

"Giles, please! What's happening?"

Giles knew that look. He knew that tone as well.

"I-I don't know all of it. We haven't been fortunate enough to find all the answers.

"Um, not to interrupt here but, how did you guys get here?" Buffy asked as she watched Wesley and Faith swapping spit. "And eeeeewwww!"

Xander, Willow, Anya, Dawnie and Tara were all sitting at the research table watching Faith and Wes make out.

"Now you know what I go through every time I see you and Giles do that," Dawn smiled as Buffy glared at her.

Gunn stepped forward. "Um, I-I don't know. It was kinda freaky. There was bright light, then bam! Here we are."

Fred stepped next to him. "Hi," she said shyly then continued, "I-I think it was magic."

"Magic? But Tara and I, we're too weak, I don't think it was us and hi," Willow smiled back.

"So if it wasn't you two, then who was it," Buffy asked as the lights in the magic shop went out.

"Oh bloody hell," Giles mumbled as Anya wrapped her arms around Xander's neck. "Um, An, can't breath-"

"He's here! He's here!"

"Who is?"

"I don't know! Do I look like a Watcher to you? But it's something!"

"Or maybe its just the storm," Xander said trying to comfort her.

Giles felt his way to the counter, then felt underneath. Her was searching for a candle as Buffy was up and walking towards the front door. She locked it then moved some things in front of it to barricade it. Only there wasn't much around and she didn't get very far when Faith came to her.

"B, you need some help?"

"Yeah get the back will ya?"

"Sure thing."

"I'll help," Wes said as Giles lit the candle with the match he found near the register.

"There, see hun, G-man has it all under control."

"You're just patronizing me."

"Is it working?"

"So far."

Giles walked to the table and set the candle there.

"Giles!" Anya yelped.

"What?"

"Do you know how much those things are?"

Giles rolled his eyes then went to Buffy. "See anything?"

Buffy was looking out the window through the small space she left after barricading the door. Giles wrapped his arms around her from behind and placed a kiss to her ear.

"No. And I don't feel anything."

Giles grinned and rubbed his need against Buffy.

"Let me rephrase that," Buffy moaned as Giles chuckled.

"Oh God! Are you two coping a feel?" Dawn gasped as she was helping Willow and Tara gather more candles to light.

"Dawn!"

"What? You are aren't you? God! Can't you two keep your hands off each other for two seconds?"

"Oh no," Anya spoke up.

"What," Xander asked as he stood near her.

"Giles! You lit the red candle!"

"Yes? And?"

"The love candle Giles!"

"The--Oh bloody hell."

"My thoughts exactly," Spike chimed in. He walked in from the training room with Faith hot on trail.

"Hey B, you got a visitor. Slimy little shit snuck in after I barricaded the door."

"Yeah, I noticed."

"Ewww! You let Spike in here?"

"It's a long story Cordy."

"So.what, he's good now?"

In union everyone said..."No!"

Spike looked around at them all and frowned. "Bunch of ingrates is bloody well what you lot is!"

"Spike, what are you doing here?"

"Nice to see you too."

"Wish I could say the same," Buffy mumbled as Giles nipped at her neck.

"You know-"

"Spike! State your business or leave," Giles growled.

Spike sucked in a deep breath, though he didn't need it, in fact he didn't even breathe. Guess that was just one of those human traits he'll have to keep trying to loose. "Haven't you lot noticed anything, oh I don't know, strange tonight?"

"Just you."

"Cute. Very cute Slayer."

"We know about the rain Spike," Giles mumbled as he kissed the back of his Slayer's neck.

"And this doesn't concern..." As Spike looked around he saw Anya and Xander making out.

Also, Willow and Tara were going at it, along with Wesley and Faith too. "Am I missing something," he asked Dawn who, before he knew it, was in front of him, grabbed him and placed a searing kiss to his lips.

Cordelia stood there, alone looking at everyone. "Um, hello," she said a little irritated. Sure, of course, leave it to the PTB's to make sure she was the only one not to get kissed tonight. Of course, if she was back in LA with Angel, things would have been different. But noooo, a damn prophecy had to sneak up and ruin her whole plan!

Cordy started to feel light-headed as thoughts of Angel crossed her mind and the feeling of love filled her. She and Angel had been through so much these past three years. The fights, the cuts and bruises and hardships. The total lack of money! This thing with Angel, this prophecy, it couldn't be true! It just-

Cordy was cut off in her thoughts as Lorne walked to her kissed her passionately.

"Hey! What- " was all she manage to say in complaint as the spell from the candle took over.

Everyone in the shop continued to kiss, fondle and grope his or her partner until several moments passed and Angel stood by the counter, clearing his voice. He held the red candle in his hand and blew it out. The lights in Magic Box came back on and the haze everyone was in, slowly lifted.

"My, my. Aren't we a bunch of horny little Scoobies, " Angel mocked as Faith who shook the cloud from her head first. She saw the others trying to clear their minds as well.

Connor.

Faith knew he was right behind her, so she turned, grabbed Connor, who was sleeping peacefully in a plush chair next to the research table and tried to run. Only Angel was faster than she was. He lifted his right hand, his eyes fire red, and Faith stopped dead in her tracks. Her whole body felt like it was being pierced with needles as she cried out. Stepping on a chair in front of the counter, Wesley lunged for Angel and quickly knocked them both over the counter and to the ground.

Buffy and Giles went to Faith who shooed Buffy off to Wesley. Giles took Connor from Faith, as she fell to her knees to catch her breath. Buffy ran to the counter as Wesley came flying over and into her. They both fell on the ground as Willow and Tara held hands and began to chant. Only Angel was up and ready. He mumbled something of his own and shot a bolt towards them. Willow saw the flash of light just in time. She stood in front of Tara and took the bolt through her heart.
