(Hospital - Willow's Room)
Donna and the doctor walked into the room and found it empty.
"Where did she go?"
"I don't know. Dead people don't usually-"
"She wasn't dead! She sat up! She talked! I-I don't know what she said - I ran-"
"Donna, how long has it been sense you got any sleep?"
"I am not imagining things Doctor! I saw her-"
"Maybe you thought you-"
"NO! She was alive."
"No, she wasn't. She had severe internal bleeding. More than we could handle all at once-"
"But, I saw-"
"Look, sweetheart, why don't you go home and take a nice nap, then-"
"Tony, don't patronize me. I know what I saw. I saw her-" But Tony cut his wife off with a loving kiss.
(Waiting room)
Willow looked for an exit as she came around another corner. It was there that she saw Xander and Anya holding Tara who was crying so hard her shoulders were shaking. Wesley was kneeling beside them, saying caring and comforting words to her lover. He talked of how brave Willow had been to save her, and how now she was in no more pain but a better, more peaceful place.
Tears filled Willows eyes as she watched them. They all had Tara in a big hug as she watched tears fall from Xander, Tara and Wesley's eyes. And even...Anya's.
"Guys?"
At first they didn't lift their heads at her voice. So she stepped closer and tried again.
"Uh...Guys?"
With her eyes bloodshot, swollen and red, Tara looked up towards the voice. Standing there, was Willow, with a large smile that seemed kinda of sad at the same time. Xander, Anya and Wesley looked up too and when everyone saw here standing there, they got up and rushed her, throwing their arms around their friend and bringing her into a fierce bear hug. Xander grinned, "Damn Will, you pulled a Buffy!"
(Graveyard)
Wiping away the tear but never the pain in his soul, Giles stood up in front of Buffy's grave one last time and with his head bowed, he spoke softly, "Because I love you so, I will honor your wishes, as I know they would have been this. I will allow myself to grieve for you and then move on..." Closing his eyes, Giles swallowed a sob.
"But I will never love again. You were my destiny and my reason for everything that I did and will do. Dawn will never know that she is alone. I will always be there for her and our friends. As I know you would have wanted it." Wiping away another fallen tear he continued, "And my love for you will never die. Though I won't see you until I too leave this mortal existence, just know that I will always hold you in my heart everyday until my last dying breath. And even then, when I see you again, you will know how much I truly love and care for you."
"I know it know, my love."
At the sound of the quiet voice behind him, Giles lifted his head then he closed his eyes and shook the impossible dream from his mind. She couldn't be real. There was no way. The Powers told him it wasn't possible. It was only his heart making him think she was there.
"Giles?"
Taking a deep breath he prayed that his soul would just let him grieve in peace and stop making him hear her sweet voice; smell her amazing scent that was so distinctly his Buffy.
"Giles, please, turn around."
He shook his head 'no', as Buffy walked closer to him.
"Why not?"
"You're.not real."
"Really?"
"Yes.really."
Buffy was planning on joking with him after she saw him standing there but his speech touched her so much, the playful thought was gone from her mind. "But Giles, here I am."
She heard him muffle a sob and her own heart cracked to know he was truly in so much pain. She went to him and stood in front of her tormented Watcher. "Giles, open those beautiful eyes of yours." Her voice was but a whisper as she watched him squeeze his eyes closer shut.
"You're...not... real."
Her own tears came as he spoke his denial to her as he tried to hold back his tears. Stepping closer to him, Buffy laid her hands to his cheeks and pulled his face to hers.
He felt her lips on his a few seconds later. Soft, warm, gentle, alive. Opening his eyes and pulling back Giles saw his love smiling at him.
"How-"
"I don't know exactly and I don't care. I missed you Giles."
"Oh, Buffy." Reaching for her, Giles pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight. "I-I-I can't believe this is real."
"It is though," whispered the Slayer as she hugged her Watcher closer.
"I know I asked this but.how?"
"I'm not sure. I think the Powers-"
"No. No they told me I couldn't have that reward."
"Reward?"
"Yes. For severing them well. I was given a chance to have anything."
Pulling back, Buffy looked into his eyes. "And.you picked me?"
Giles laid his hands to her face. "I will always pick you. How could I not?"
"Okay, A) I am so letting you get lucky tonight for that answer and B) why the hell don't I get one?"
Laughing, Giles brought Buffy closer to him and kissed her so passionately, Buffy thought her lips were on fire.
(Hospital- Faith's Room)
Faith sat up in her bed, trying to get out of it to see what the commotion was with the nurse that dragged her doctor out of there so fast but she was too weak. Sighing in frustration, she heard a knock a few seconds later.
"Yeah?"
"May I come in? I have a delivery."
The voice was male, that she could tell, but it didn't sound familiar. "Uh, sure."
The door opened slowly as Faith, on guard, watched the figure walk in. Only the mans face wasn't visible as he carried over two dozen long stem red roses.
"Um, wow. Beautiful. But, I don't think those are mine."
The man placed the flowers on the stand near her bed then turned to her. "Oh, but they are. As well as this." Wesley smiled as he saw Faith grinning in surprise.
"Nice, 007. Where'd you learn to use an American accent?"
"Some things I shall never tell." He leaned into her then and kissed her. His hands tangling in her hair as he deepened the kiss. His tongue asked for entrance and Faith gave it to him. The pleasurable kiss lasted for several long moments until Faith pulled away for a breath.
"Wow. A delivery man that actually delivers."
With a chuckle, Wes sat next to his Slayer, unofficially but always in his heart he thought so and held her hand. Faith's head went to Wes's shoulder. "How is everyone?"
"Willow's... alive," he sighed with relief, "And Xander and Anya are outside with she and Tara. I called the shop and Angel and Cordy are well. They made it through the night, though.Buffy died-"
"What?" Panic ran through Faith as Wesley laid a hand to her cheek.
"No, she's fine Luv. T-They aren't sure how or why but, she woke up and she's all right."
"Oh thank God. And Giles?"
"They said Buffy went to check on Giles and Lorne is on his way here. Cordelia was contacted by the Powers and Connor is safe with them."
"Wow, sounds like a busy night huh?"
"Indeed it was."
"I'm glad everyone's all right."
"As am I."
"And are you?"
"Am I what?"
"Are you all right?"
"Of course I am."
"Then why the short answers?"
Wesley smiled. She really did know him to well. "I'm just afraid that if I truly allow myself to enjoy this moment, I might..."
"Laugh?"
"No! No, cry," he said with a blush.
"Cry? Why?"
"Because you are the most important thing in my life Faith. I love you totally, deeply and madly. You mean everything to me.and when I thought that you were going to.to." Placing a finger to his lips, Faith smiled. "Shh, its okay. I'm fine and you're fine and its all right to show emotions Wesley."
"Not according to my father."
"Well he isn't here, is he? And even if he was, it wouldn't matter. You are your own person now Wesley. You've come a long way. A way in which you should be so proud of yourself."
"Sweet talker."
"Damn right."
Laughing the two leaned into each other once more for a loving kiss, before Faith felt him pull away and slide to floor on one knee.
"Hey, are you all right? What-"
"There's something I wanted to ask you for a while now. Something I was too afraid to ask before tonight. But now.now I know this right, that no matter what happens, as along as were together, it will be all right."
"What will?"
"Faith, I-I realize I'm getting the better part of this if by some miracle you say yes, so never forget that I promise to always be there for you. That I -"
"Wes, a-a-re you asking me to-"
"Well not yet but I'm trying!"
Chuckling, Faith straightened herself and looked into his eyes. "Oh, well then, I'm sorry. Please continue."
"Right. W-what was I saying?"
Faith busted out in a laugh as she saw his eyes on her legs in front of him. "Always a man, aren't you?"
"I-I'm sorry luv. It's your bleeding fault for looking so bloody fine!"
"Oh sure. Blame me for your -"
"Marry me?"
Faith stopped her cut down as Wesley slipped a beautiful, large cut diamond to her finger.
"Wow .Its...how did you afford this? Can we afford this? Wes-"
"Yes.or no?"
"Yes or no? Oh! YES! Of course!"
Lifting her off the bed, Wesley took her into his arms and kissed her passionately.
