RODENT

"Hurry Giles!"

"I got here as soon as I got your message."

"He's in there!" The slayer pointed frantically to one corner of the attic as Giles grabbed his axe and with caution went to the that corner.

"I-I-I don't see anything. What did you say it was? You sounded so panicked on the phone-"

"Ah! There he went! Giles, right there! Right there!" Buffy jumped up on some old boxes as Giles straightened and looked at her. The Slayer was actually scared? Whatever this was must be something incredibly horrible and foul looking indeed

"Where Buffy?"

"Right there," pointed the Slayer as Giles stood in front of her and looked in the direction she was pointing. Buffy laid her hands on his shoulders and whispered, "Careful Giles, he's fast."

"Buffy, I don't see anything," the Watcher stated as he looked around the small room. He loved the feel of his slayer's hands on his body. At least he did until she started to squeeze hard as the thing flashed across the room and hid under some boxes. Only, all Giles saw was a blur.

"There is was! Slay it Giles!"

"Slay it? Slay what? I can't even see the damn thing much less ... and wait a moment. Why me? You're the bloody Slayer!"

Buffy huffed, "What kind of Watcher are you?"

"Excuse me? This from a Slayer who's standing on two feet of boxes and hiding behind her less than equally strong watcher?"

"Giles don't doubt yourself. I know you can handle this situation far better than I can. Now go get it!" Buffy pushed Giles towards the corner where she last saw the disgusting thing as he glared at her.

"Sure, send the lamb to slaughter," he mumbled and got a glare from Buffy. "Sorry, your glares aren't as threatening as mine."

"I hate you!"

"Oh really?" Giles started to walk towards the door for the stairs when Buffy jumped on his back and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"No! Giles don't go! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

Giles struggled to keep his balance as his hands went to her thighs and held her to him. Of course he dropped his axe that way to.

"Shit! Giles, you dropped the axe!"

That wasn't the only thing he almost dropped, thought Giles he felt the strength in Buffy's thighs around him and her chest pressed against his back. And the worst part, was she keep squirming, rubbing against him.

"Giles! Grab the axe! Hurry, before it sees you're helpless!"

"A-a-all right."

Buffy noticed his voice sounded a little...strained? "Giles, are you okay?" Her voice was hot against his ear.

"Yes," he choked out.

"Then, why aren't you moving?"

"I'm not?"

"No."

Giles closed his eyes. This was the worst time for him to get an erection! But with Buffy touching him and holding onto him, his body couldn't help but respond.

"Giles?"

"I-I'm sorry Buffy. I just, I...here..." Giles helped Buffy to the boxes and she sat there as he bent down and retrieved the axe. When he straightened again, he saw Buffy staring at him. "What's wrong?"

"T-that thing! It's behind you!"

Turning slowly so as not to startle the creature, Giles looked behind him but again, the little bastard was to fast and ran away. Then he felt Buffy pull his back to her chest and her arms were around his neck while her legs wrapped around his waist. Giles was so shocked, he didn't know what to do.

"B-B-Buffy?"

"You have to kill it Giles!"

"I-It would help if you told me what it was exactly."

"How come you never see it?"

"Maybe because its your imagination running wild?"

That got him a pinched nipped as Giles yelped then turned his head to look at her in shock. He couldn't believe she was touching him much less there!

"Buffy!"

"Well!"

Giles rubbed his sore nipple as Buffy smiled apologetically. "Sorry. But Giles, I wasn't seeing things! And, you saw something."

"Yes, I admit I saw ‘something' but apparently you have seen more of it, so would you mind telling me what it is?"

"I-I don't know! It's furry and tiny and ewwww."

"Furry, tiny and eww? Yes well that narrows it down quite a bit thank you-OUCH!" The Watcher yelped and tried move from her as she pulled one of his hairs on his chest that was peeking through his shirt top. Giles turned his head to her and glared. "Do you mind!"

"Not at all, now do your duty as a man and my watcher and slay that thing!"

Sighing, Giles tried to move but Buffy was still attached to him. "Uh, Luv, I might be able to actually slay as you put it, this thing if I could actually move."

"Forgot it! I'm not staying here, alone, and an open target!"

"Buffy...," Giles was beginning to get concerned. Nothing ever scared his slayer this much. He managed to turn in her embrace. Her legs stayed wrapped around his waist as her hands clenched the front of his shirt. She looked around the room with her eyes, searching for the little rodent as Giles put his axe down and he laid his hands on top of hers. Speaking softly, his voice drew her eyes to his. "Buffy? Please? What's wrong? Why can't you slay this thing?"

"Its...embarrassing Giles."

"What is?"

"Why I cant...why..."

"Is it a demon? I-I mean a rather nasty one?" Buffy laughed as Giles looked at her.

"What?"

"No, Giles, it isn't a demon."

"Then, what the bloody hell has you so-"

"Watch out!" Buffy yelled as she pulled her feet up and Giles turned to see a little furry ... squirrel? The Slayer, his Slayer, was afraid of a, rodent?

"You have got to be kidding me?"

"No, I am not! Now slay it!"

Giles couldn't help it; he let out a laugh that only made Buffy glare at him as his eyes began to water.

"How is this funny?"

"If you're me it's funny," the Watcher laughed.

"Giles!"

"All right, all right." Taking a deep breath, as he wipped a tear away,Giles grabbed an old box off the floor and went to the corner where the squirrel was.

"What are you doing, making it a home? Kill it!"

"I most certainly will not! It's a harmless creature Buffy."

"Harmless? How can something that looks like that be harmless?"

"He's rather...cute really," Giles said as he got the creature in the box and walked by Buffy, who stood up and as close to the wall away from him as possible.

"That thing is no where near the word cute!"

"Buffy honestly, after all you have faced, a little three pound squirrel scares you so?"

"After what I faced? Giles, those things were, big and they could be hit! I can't hit this thing...and plus, his eyes, they look all...beady!"

Smiling, Giles took the harmless creature downstairs and set him free on a tree. Only as he lifted the lid the little bastard bit him! Buffy was watching at the door and went to Giles as he pulled back suddenly.

"See, harmless my ass! Let me see." She took his hand in hers and saw the skin wasn't broken.

"Its okay, Buffy."

"We should put some peroxide on it anyway, come on."

Giles allowed Buffy to lead him into her bathroom upstairs as she got the first aid kit out. He enjoyed her holding his hand when she lead him upstairs. They never really touched a lot in general, so when they did on rare occasions, Giles noticed, and cherish the moment.

"Okies, have a seat."

"Um, where?"

"There." Buffy pointed to the toilet and her watcher put the lid down and took a seat. Buffy grabbed his hand and used a cotton ball that she poured the peroxide on and dabbed at his wound. Giles noticed how careful she was being and attentive. It touched him, as usually he was the one taking care of her and cleaning her wounds.

When she was done, she put a bandage on his wound then kissed it. Giles lifted his eyes to hers and she smiled. A smile so bright and pure, it sang to him. A grin spread across his lips as Buffy stepped between his legs and placed her hands on his cheeks.

"Buff-"

"Shh, Giles. I want to tell you something."

"A-All right."

"You've done that a lot today."

"What?"

"Stutter."

"I-I'm sorry-"

"No, it's...I mean, I remember when you use to it to Miss Calendar, because you were so-"

"In, love with her?"

"Yeah."

A silence fell between them as Buffy rubbed her thumbs over the rough stubble on his cheeks. Looking into his eyes, everything seemed to fall into place with them, like it all just...clicked. "So, does that mean you ...love me too?"

Giles couldn't he was having this conversation with her as she was touching him and making him feel like his stomach was invaded by butterflies. "B-B-Buffy, I, I, that is, I mean-"

"Yes or no."

"Of course I do but-"

"You're not in love with me?"

"Buffy where is all this coming from?"

"From here," she whispered as she placed his hand over her heart. His fingers grazing the exposed skin of her cleavage as he felt her heart pound under his palm. Giles swallowed hard as he lifted his eyes from he spot where she laid his hand and looked at her.

"But I thought-"

"I know. Angel, Parker, Riley, Spike...-"

"Spike!"

"Oops."

"Spike?"

"Well, I was lonely and-"

"Spike?"

"Are you going to get past that anytime soon?"

"Well, I mean its...its, Spike!"

" What?"

"How-"

Buffy decided there was one way to prove she loved him and that Spike was long gone from her memory. So she kissed him...passionately. Giles was too shocked to respond at first but when he felt her tongue on his lips he opened to her and forgot about all those times she called him old and gross. Taking her by the hips he pulled her to his lap where she straddled him and laced her fingers through his hair.

"Wait, Buffy-"

"Don't say it."

"Say what?"

"I know I was mean to you. I know I said, bad things to you-"

"How do you do that?"

"What?"

"Know what I was going to say to you?"

"I don't know, I just...know you. I love you."

Giles' heart filled with love and joy. He never thought in his wildest dreams that he would be holding Buffy, much less having her straddle his hips, kissing him passionately as her tongue invaded his mouth.

"Buffy, I don't know what to say-"

"Are you in love with me?"

"I always have been."

"Then lets start with that," the Slayer grinned. She leaned into him and pulled him in for another fiery kiss, only Giles lost his balance and they both ended up backwards and in the tub. His Slayer was laying on top of him as Giles started to laugh. "Well, this is certainly, romantic isn't it?"

Giggling, Buffy straightened herself then straddled Giles again, pushing her desire into his need, causing him to gasp.

"Not yet, but it can be." With that, Buffy ripped open his shirt, sending buttons flying everywhere, a wicked grin on her face.

"What?"

She reached behind her and turned on the water.

"Buffy!" Giles tried to get up but she pinned him down.

"Stay"

"But, we're in our clothes!"

"Not for long." She smiled as Giles watched her with interest. He had never seen this part of Buffy and he was beyond excited and intrigued. "So, then what-"

"Shhh." Buffy started to unbutton her shirt slowly as she watched Giles' eyes turn a darker shade, his passion rising. He watched her hands travel down her body. As she passed and undid each button, Giles leaned into her and kissed the newly exposed flesh.

The tub began to gather more water as Giles continued his kissing and reached into his pocket, grabbed his wallet and threw it on the floor.

" sorry about that I-"

"Shhh," Giles whispered as he took her into a kiss that left her breathless and when he finally broke it he leaned down to devour her breasts causing Buffy to moan in sweet pleasure as the rest of their clothes soon were gone.

"Buffy, are you sure?"

"More than anything."

"So -"

"Giles?"

"Yes?"

"I love you, you love me, isn't that enough for now?"

Giles thought about it as she rubbed her self against him. "Vixen."

Giggling, Buffy kissed him again and all thoughts about reason where gone. Giles loved her more than anything in this world and she loved him. So, why not give in to their desires and for once, enjoy themselves?

"Buuuuuffy..."

That was why, Giles thought as he sighed in Buffy's mouth, "Its Dawn!"

Buffy started to panic as she sat up and tried to sound like she wasn't doing anything.

"y-Y-Yeah?"

"Where are you?"

"I-in the bathroom. Why? What's wrong?" "Nothing. Hey, why is the door locked?"

Buffy looked back at Giles and he shrugged. She must have accidentally locked it when she shut it. But then she wasn't sure why she shut it in the first place. Well, maybe deep down she knew-

"Buffy!"

"What?"

"Can I?"

"Can you what?"

Giles decided he couldn't wait, he had to be touching her, tasting her, so he leaned forward as he sat up and stared kissing her back. Buffy moaned and Dawnie asked if she was all right. She assured she was as she looked at Giles with a glare that made him smirk and took her into a deep kiss.

"Buuuuuffffffyy! Can I or not?"

Buffy moaned again as Dawn tried the handle.

"Buffy are youu sure you're all right?"

When Buffy heard the handle she broke the kiss and answered Dawn. "Yes!"

"I can? Cool, thanks Buffy!"

"Wait! What? Dawn? Daawwn?"

Giles took the opportunity to pin her and turned the water off, his weight resting on his elbows.

"Giles, I'm such a bad sister."

"No luv, you're not-"

"yes I am."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because I just sent my sister someplace that I don't even-"

"She's going to her friends love-"

"See, you were paying attention-"

"Just barely," he answered with a smirk and leaned down to her to take her nipple in his mouth. Sighing in bliss, Buffy laced her fingers through his soft hair once again and let her Watcher work her into a frenzy. Soon both were beyond the point of turning back and as Giles entered her, they looked into each others eyes and saw how right this was. How could they not have seen it before? All this time lost, wasted.

When Giles called out her name and she his, they collapsed against one another and wrapped each other in a loving embrace. Giles' head rested on top of his Slayers right breast as her fingers played with his hair.

"We wasted so much time."

"I know."

"I'm sorry."

"For what Luv?"

"For being young, stupid and...mean."

Giles lifted his head and looked at his slayer. "I don't want to hear that Buffy. You had a lot on your mind, a lot to go through for one so young. Please-"

"I love you."

"And I love you."

"And that's all that matters now right?"

"Right."

"So then you won't yell at me when I tell you something?"

"Of course not."

"I hired the squirrel."

"I beg your pardon?"

"The Rodent. I hired him. I paid Dawnie's friends to put him in the attic then I called you-"

Giles cut her off with a kiss that told her he was both flattered and amazed she would go to that much trouble. When they broke the kiss he leaned his forehead against hers. "You're amazing."

"No-"

"Yes. You went through a lot of trouble-"

"You're worth it. It just took me time to see it. I'm sorry."

"No need for apologies Buffy. The timing wasn't right before, it is now."

With a smile they shared another kiss as Willow and Tara opened the door, giggling and kissing and trying to remove clothing.

"Hey!" Buffy cried out as she pulled Giles on her more to cover her.

"Oh! Buffy! Giles?"

"Not a word," Buffy warned as Tara covered her own eyes.

"Oh were sorry Buffy. We didn't know-"

"I thought the door was locked! And why are you coming to my bathroom?"

"It was. We used the key above the door and well, your tub has the jets."

Buffy hid her face in the crook of Giles shoulder. "Guys," she mumbled against him, "can you please go now?"

"Oh, right sure. We're sorry Buffy."

"Its fine."

The two left giggling and a woohoo its about time was heard then a door shut. Buffy felt Giles' chest shake as she looked up and saw his eyes dancing with laughter.

"And just what are you laughing at?"

"This."

"What?"

"This...situation."

"You find it amusing, huh?"

"Quite, actually."

Buffy decided she had enough and flipped her watcher so she was straddling his upper thighs. Giles hissed as she rubbed herself along his arousal.

"Wow, stevedore...no kidding."

"Tart."

"Hey! I know what that means!"

"You do?"

"Yeah and don't act so surprised. Living around you for 6 years one picks up these things. "

Laughing Giles pulled her down for a kiss. "Do you think we could continue this on the bed, before I look even more old and wrinkly?"

"Stop that."

"What?"

"I love how you look."

"Right."

"I do. Giles, God if I'd know how hard you would take that to heart...I only said it out of anger and frustration. I'm sorry."

"Its all right Buffy."

"You sure?"

"Way sure," he smiled using one of her phrases, then kissed her as he lifted her and stood with her in his arms.

"I want to start our lives together Buffy-"

"Me too."

"So, from now on-"

"I belong to you"

"And I to you."

"Seal it with a kiss?"

"My pleasure." He lowered his lips to hers as he carried her to the bed and made love to her all night long. The two awoke in the morning to a bright day with the sun shinning and the birds singing.

"Can ever day be like this?"

"I'll try my best."

"Can we try again right now?"

"Wench."

Buffy giggled as Giles made good on his promise to try and they ended up missing not only breakfast but lunch and dinner as well...
