Xander leaned in, "So, you nervous?"
Giles kept looking back at the incoming guests, "I don't see how I should be? I'm marrying the smartest and prettiest girl I've ever been with, her eyes." Sigh, "Besides if I back out now.. She'll whip my ass!" He looked at the best man again, "No. No pressure."
Xander was about to giggle when the music started playing. He watched his pretty Anya walk down the aisle first, spraying the ground with rose petals. Xander felt a lump form in his throat, <God! She's beautiful.> Willow was next and all eyes set upon the witch as she almost glided down the aisle. There was one other left to come, as the music played, his vision blurred, feeling the tears well in his eyes.
Buffy was going to step down the aisle, "What? Not even going to wait for your old man to give you away?"
"Dad1" She leaned in and kissed his cheek.
"I couldn't miss my daughter's big day." He held his arm and Buffy slipped hers in and down the aisle they walked. Joyce looked at them both with a very happy smile and tears streaming down. At the alter he turned towards Rupert, "You better make her happy." And extended a hand out to him with Rupert grabbing it, happily knowing that now that her father has showed up, Buffy is truly happy.
The Officiant began reciting the ceremony, "We are gathered this day of the joining of Rupert Giles and Buffy Summers, let anyone who can think of why these two should not be joined, speak now or forever hold their peace."
Buffy and Giles both waiting praying nobody would be stupid enough to say anything, when all they could hear is silence, relief washed over them.
"Very well then, Rupert and Buffy have prepared their own wedding vows to admit in front of you."
Giles looked from the judge to his soon to be wife and saw the true bliss in them there was no turning back now. "Buffy, I know you think words come easy for me, but today," The corners of his mouth turned up, "Today. I fear no words can do justice to the way I feel about you. You are my everything. When you are out late at night I worry. When I see you smile, my heart soars. When you laugh, it's the finest music I've ever heard. I'm afraid that everything I feel for you may have been hopelessly lost in the translation. Simply put Luv, I have always loved you and always will no matter what."
Buffy choked up a little hearing his admission. She reached up and cupped his face, "You've always been there for me. Always been my White Knight, The answer guy, you also, are my everything. Having you beside me is my greatest joy, I will love you always and forever."
Xander and Willow both give the rings to the couple.
"Do you Rupert Giles, Take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer; now and always?"
"I do." With a great smile he placed the ring upon his lady's finger.
"And do you Buffy Anne Summers, Take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer; now and always?"
"I do." Bringing the ring upon his finger and smiling up to him.
"Now by the power invested in me, By the state of California, I now pronounce you, Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride."
Rupert clasped his hands about his wife's face, "I love you."
Then came the kiss.
And the wedding march played again as they raced out towards the waiting limo to whisk them to the reception.
