"Where is everyone?" Buffy looked around and saw that none of the Scooby's was there.

"They left to celebrate the holiday. Anya made it quite clear that she is taking the day off to spend with Xander. Willow and Tara, well, they just said they had plans."

"I don't get it. It's a stupid holiday." She took a drink from her water bottle and thought for a moment. "Why don't we take the rest of the day off as well and do something fun?"

Giles looked up at her. "Buffy, though as it seems, I do have a shop to run."

"GIILLLEESS" she whined, "I bet you there won't be anybody coming in to buy there honey any eye of newt. C'mon lets go to the zoo."

He perked up by the mere words, " The zoo??!!" He seemed like a little boy at the mention of it. "I suppose we could use the break."

As they walked in the zoo, they laughed at what some of the animals were doing, were fascinated by other people. The petting zoo offered a wide range of animals to be in contact with, one in particular happened to be a white deer. Buffy snuggled up close to Giles and without knowing at first slipped her hand into his.

Giles looked at her, his eyes glistened and a smile broadened his face. He leaned down to her face, inches away from her lips, taking one last look before they made contact. The kiss was tender at first, which grew into a more heated and hungered exchange.
