Title: You Belong to Me 2/2

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, otherwise everyone would be a lot happier, and season 6+7 would have never happened, or at least gone differently
When Buffy walked into the Expresso Pump, she spotted Giles sitting in a booth by the corner. Her mouth dropped, as she got closer. He was wearing blue jeans and a black polo shirt - and both were looking pretty snug on him. 'Wow', she thought, 'he fits those jeans really well. And he's got muscles, who knew?' 'Duh', another part of her scolded, 'he's only trained you for 4 years now'. She sat down and her jaw dropped once more, when she saw the gold hoop in his ear.
"Hello' Buffy," Giles greeted.
"Where did you get an earring? I- I mean, hi!" Buffy stammered.
Giles raised an eyebrow, but chuckled. "Are you alright? You seem a bit- ah- flustered."
Buffy grabbed a glass of water, from a waiter who was passing by, and gulped it down in one drink.
"I'm good. Its just I'm not used to you looking all sexy, n-not that you aren't, just I'm not used to thinking you look sexy, and did I just say that out loud?"
She stopped and looked at Giles, who was blushing but delighted at her words anyway.
"Th-thank you. So, not very, very old and gross after all?"
Buffy pouted. "I'm sorry. If I knew how deep it would cut - saying that - I wouldn't have. I was just, um, well...Olivia was there in just your shirt and I freaked. I didn't mean it."
Giles stared at her lower lip.
"Well, thank you for that." He said softly. He cleared his throat. "Anyway, the reason I asked you here was-"
"Ah' Rupert!" Barry, the manager cut in, as he approached the table. "Are you gonna sing for us today?"
Buffy's eyes lit up. 'Hmm, Willow said that Giles' singing is sexy.'
"Yeah Giles. I wouldn't mind hearing you sing."
She smiled her 100-watt smile, the ones that Giles couldn't help smiling back at, with his heart pounding faster.
Barry glanced at Buffy.
"And, who is this beautiful lady you've got here?"
Giles glared at Barry, something that didn't go unnoticed by Buffy, who smiled inwardly.
She shook Barry's hand. "I'm Buffy, a friend of Gi- Rupert's."
Barry smiled mischievously and looked towards Rupert.
"Good, well I hope you can keep up with the women here. When this guy sings, he gets at least five phone numbers, and twice as many droolers."
Buffy frowned at the thought, and looked at Giles who just smiled and ducked his head.
"Well, let's not exaggerate."
"We still have your guitar here from last time, so I'll go set up for you."
He walked off.
Buffy nodded towards the front. "Better not keep the women waiting." She laughed but inside, she knew she'd rip up any phone numbers he got.
He wondered what she was thinking when the laugh didn't reach her eyes, but decided to press her on it later.
He went up to the front.
Buffy heard two ladies at the table next to her, whispering excitedly.
"Ooh, he's gonna sing today. Lets go sit closer."
Buffy glared daggers at them and stood up, going to the seat closest to the where Giles was singing.
"Excuse me," One of the ladies scoffed. "We were just about to sit here!"
Buffy smiled sweetly. "Too bad you weren't fast enough, huh!"
She turned back to the front and found Giles watching them with an amused smile. Buffy blushed, but argued with a pout. "Well, they have obviously seen you before, and I haven't-" Giles sat down and started tuning the guitar. "And I'm delighted that you want to hear me sing, Buffy, but why the sudden interest?"
Buffy's eyes widened and she started stuttering. "W-well, be-because, the others saw you, a-and I don't want to be left out." She finished lamely. Giles eyed her for a second and then nodded.
"Ahem," he cleared his throat and began speaking to the audience, which unsurprisingly, grew in the last 20 minutes.
"I know its been awhile since I've sung here. Sometimes life gets in the way. Lets make up for lost time, shall we?"
He began strumming a tune. One that wasn't familiar to Buffy, but she was too engrossed in staring at her watcher. And as he began to sing, she couldn't help jaw dropping like a codfish.
* Every breath you take
every move you make
every bond you break
every step you take
I'll be watching you*
Buffy's breath caught. 'Watching you' she thought, well Giles is a watcher, so it fits.'
As she heard Giles sing she wondered why she told Willow that Giles and singing was creepy. It's so, so far from that.
Her eyes widened again, as she began listening again.
* Oh can't you see, you belong to me
how my poor heart aches, with every step you take*
Giles looked at Buffy as if he was singing to her and only her. 'But I don't belong to him,' she thought sadly, 'and that part about his heart aching? I did that too. I deliberately took steps away from him last year, after that whole Olivia fiasco. Did it really hurt him that much? As much as it hurt me, to be away from him?'
She looked up and noticed the two ladies from earlier, staring at Giles and sighing. One lady turned to the other and grinned. "I'm gonna give him my number. Any man who can wear jeans like that, and that voice... he's gotta be a keeper."
The other one sighed and looked at Giles appreciatively. "Hmm, me too, Think he'll mind seeing both of us?"
"Oh you're so bad!" They laughed and turned to ogle Giles some more.
Buffys eyes narrowed. 'Well, whether or not I belong to Giles, he belongs to me, and those two tramps aren't getting anywhere near him!'
With that, she got up and started towards Giles who was getting ready to start another song. He stopped when he noticed her walking towards him.
"Buffy? What's wrong?" he asked, brow furrowed.
Buffy shook her head. "Nothing much." Then she took his face in her hands and pressed her lips to his.
Giles sat frozen for a few seconds, before placing his guitar on the floor, and wrapping his arms around her, pulling her closer and deepening the kiss. She ran her hands along his neck and through the hair on the back of his head.
'Wow' They both thought, barely coherent.
She pulled away and looked at Giles whose dazed eyes reflected hers.
"Buffy?" he asked softly.
Buffy smiled and whispered. "You belong to me, too, Giles."
He looked at her blankly, before remembering the lyrics of the song and smiled, a full blown grin that Buffy had never seen him do before and made a promise to herself that there would be more.
He cradled the back of her head and brought her lips back to his again.
Everyone started clapping and the two oglers grabbed their things and left, muttering to each other about the blonde "bitch" who stole their man. They passed a table where four certain Scoobies sat, way in the back, out of view from Buffy and Giles.
"See?" Willow spoke excitedly. "I told you it would work. One minute of any woman wanting Giles and Buffy snapped."
She grinned happily.
Xander nodded amused. "Gotta hand it to you Will. But how did you know Giles would sing today?"
Barry walked by and Willow handed him 20 dollars. "Thanks again for the help."
Barry nodded towards Buffy and Giles who didn't look like they were letting go of each other anytime soon.
"Anything for Rupert. He brings the customers in when he performs. It's the least I could do."
Willow smiled impishly at the others, who shook their heads laughing.

Buffy and Giles broke apart when the need for oxygen became an issue.
"Rupert?" Buffy began, but then broke off to share a grin with him at the use of his first name.
"Yes?" he chided her to continue.
"Oh, I was just gonna say that we can't get home fast enough."
Giles laughed outlous and pulled her closer.
"Me either, love."
Tears sprang to Buffy's eyes.
"Love?"
Giles nodded. "Yes. I love you Buffy."
Buffy swallowed back a sob. "I love you, too."
He pulled her to him again and kissed her harder.
"You were right." He whispered against her lips. "We can't get home fast enough."
Buffy laughed and pulled away. "What are we waiting for then?"
She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the exit, only to turn around again.
"When you say 'Home', you mean-"
"My home" he gazed down at her. "Our home."
Buffy stared at him with a mixture of hope, disbelief and shock on her face.
"Why, Mister Giles! Are you asking me to move in with you?"
"Yes, I am."
"Yes, I will."
"F-forever?"
"Forever and ever"
A silly grin slowly spread over her face as his words sank in. As if to seal the vow, she leaned up to him, their lips meeting in a promise-filled kiss before they broke apart, each breathing heavily. "Let's go home then," Buffy finally managed to work out, reaching simultaneously for his hand. He willingly clutched hers and together they left, walking hand in hand to *their* home.

The others looked at each other and smiled.
"Well, three Scooby couples in love. What could be better?"
Xander sighed. "An Anya, Willow and Tara Oreo Cookie with a Xander-y creamed filling."
The three girls looked at him, jaws dropped.
"What? A guy can dream, can't he?
