Giles has been mistreated by those darn kids for years.
They never seem to think they need him. Until, ya know...
they actually do need him. Then it's good ol' reliable Giles to the rescue.
I wanna know how Giles feels about this.
Soooo.....
Write a post S7 story where Giles is once again tossed aside by the gang.
The Scoobies think they're doing him a favor...telling him that he's
"earned" his "retirement" and should try to enjoy life now.
They can handle everything and don't really need him anymore.
He returns to England, and thinks (at first) that it actually sounds pretty good.
No slayers to train, no apocalypses to prepare for, no demons to research.
Maybe joining the "Ordinary World" isn't such a bad idea.
To Hell with that ungrateful lot anyway.
The kids seem to be handling things pretty well without him, and he soon faces
the prospect of a world that doesn't need him any more. Once he begins looking for
that "Ordinary World," he discovers that finding it isn't easy. And learning
to live in it (especially without friends/family), is far more difficult
than he could have ever imagined.
What will he do with his life now that he answers to no one, and has no obligations?
What worth does his life hold, now that it's not being spent saving others?
And how does he deal with knowing/thinking that the only real family
he's ever known,
has deemed him unworthy?
